Just out of the success of his ‘Gadar 2’, Sunny Deol is grabbing headlines all round. The beeline at his office has started again after almost two decades to sign him up. After all, heroes like Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn and Aamir Khan are all knocking on the sixties and have been ruling the roost in the Hindi film industry. Unfortunately, lately their careers have remained fickle. Consistency is lacking in the box-office outcome of their films.
Just when the filmmakers contemplate giving up on them, they turn up one successful film which gives them another couple of years of career extension. Of course, this success enjoys the added advantage of inflated box-office figures. Let alone the public, but even other filmmakers get taken in by these!

‘Bhed Chaal’ is a Hindi proverb very much used in relation to the Hindi film industry. It means that one huge success is followed by numerous other attempts. Original ideas are at a premium in the Hindi film industry. The makers either depend on a foreign film, or a novel, or a South Indian film for a subject.
Filmmakers always want to play safe because the risk factor is always high. The distributor, while being wined and dined, gets a sales pitch, like “Zanjeer se kam nahi hamari picture…” and such. Many smaller-budget imitations of ‘Sholay’, ‘Zanjeer’, ‘Deewaar’ and other such films flooded the market. That is to say, if one action film worked, many more were certain to follow.

Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas
Starring Karan Deol,Sahher Bambba
Directed by Sunny Deol
There is much that’s beautiful in Sunny Deol’s debut film for his son, the handsome and earnest Karan Deol. Scenic Manali, for one. The cinematographers (there are two of them) Himman Dhameja and Ragul Dharuman love the landscape. The camera captures the natural unspoilt beauty of Manali and Himachal Pradesh as the relationship between Karan (Deol) a local adventure-sports guide and a visiting tourist Saher (Sahher Bammba) develops.
Their relationships grows. The narrative doesn’t. The first-half, though marked by some excellent shots of the couple climbing down valleys. Wading through crystal waters and going up rocky mountains, is struck by a chronic case of inertia.
Nothing happens. Except that we see the young couple bicker and flirt. Oh yes, somewhere in the midst of this meet-cute boredom Saher bursts into the classic Kishore...

Here is a very cute behind the scenes story. In his upcoming movie, Poster Boys which is directed by Shreyas Talpade, Sunny Deol’s character is that of a rough and tough retired army officer, yet having a softer side to him. He is a romantic at heart and is obsessed with taking selfies.
Now Sunny Deol is a tech savy person in real life, but when he had to portray a role of a “selfie addict” and take selfie shots pout and all, initially it was a bit awkward and embarrassing for him.
It seems brothers will be brothers, however, so to add to the discomfort, Bobby Deol, who will also be seen in the movie, would chuckle seeing his pouting lips, making the entire set break out with laughter as they got to see the shy and reserved Sunny in a very different avatar. Sunny would let out...

Amrita Singh who is currently being seen stealing the thunder and the lightening as super-hero Tiger Shroff's super-spunky mother in A Flying Jatt is aghast to read reports of her old buddy and favourite co-star Sunny Deol approaching her for a film with her daughter Sara.

He and I go back a very very long way. We not only made our debut together in Betaab, we practically grew up together. Sunny's family and I are so close it would be inconceivable for me to say no to him for anything. I love Sunny's son Karan like my own son."
Amrita then goes on to clear the air about this supposed project featuring her daughter and Sunny Deol's son.

For the fans of macho man, Sunny Deol, this week is going be an unconventional one! The actor will be seen in a romantic/social entertainer for a change. Not that there are any doubts about his acting capabilities as he has shown his versatility in romantic flicks like Betaab, Sunny, Darr as well Dillagi (off course with some action thrown in!). Unfortunately, the film in question, I Love NY, also featuring the lady of the moment, Kangana Ranaut, was postponed from last year, and this time around it has not been given enough time and promotion, despite good music and production values.
The new releases of last week Guddu Rangeela, Second Hand Husband and Bezubaan Ishq, fared as expected. It was just the Arshad-Amit starrer, Guddu Rangeela, which saw a reasonable weekend netting nearly 6 crore and can still hope for a recovery. Second Hand Husband came in a poor...

Rahul Rawail, the filmmaker who gifted Hindi cinema such precious actors as Sunny Deol (Betaab), Kajol (Bekhudi), Aishwarya Rai (Aur Pyar Ho Gaya) and Amrita Singh (Betaab) is all set to unleash more fresh talent in a new film that he says, he is starting in April 2014. Interestingly, Rawail who seemed to have thrown in his towel after directing the ill-received risque comedy Buddha Mar Gaya in 2007, has named his new love story after his 1981 blockbuster Love Story which launched the careers of Rajendra Kumar's son Kumar Gaurav and Vijayta Pandit. Halfway through that 1981 film, Rawail had a fall-out with producer Rajendra Kumar. Rawail's name did not appear in the credits of Love Story. Now is his chance to get his name as director into Love Story. Says Rahul, "I am directing another film called Love Story. It bears no resemblance to the old film of that title." Rahul...

Ghayal Returns is the sequel to Sunny's 1990 blockbuster Ghayal, directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. Mumbai: Recently the shutterbugs spotted a young Deol at the screening of a new Hindi movie. This young Deol was none other than Sunny Deol’s elder son Karan a.k.a Rocky.
But unlike his father, Karan seemed to be pleasantly surprised at the sight of the media and didn’t seem reclusive at all. Karan looks really cute; in fact he resembles Sunny Deol from his “Betaab” days. Apparently Sunny Deol is planning to consolidate his production house, Vijeta Films and may launch his son soon.
The senior Deol knows that his son too may want to join to film industry soon as he’s nearly 21 years.
