Sex & Nudity

  • A teenage girl (Julie) masturbates, revealing her breasts.
  • A boy uses barbie dolls for self sex therapy. At one point he licks his hand and touches the doll's v*g*n* and the boy fantasies the doll replying and talking to him.
  • In another scene a boy shows a girl his p*n*s and even has her touch it and then suggest he sees her privates, she replies there isn't much to look at.
  • A lady sexually arouses her husband and he winds up masturbating his underwear and is really freaked out by it.
  • Some french kissing scenes; one takes place in bed and the lady asks her husband what he thinks about them having another baby.

Violence & Gore

  • No blood/no gore.
  • But a big bunch of domestic yelling and screaming.
  • In one scene a boy throws his sister's barbie doll and this lady says, "If you were my son, I'd kick you all the way to JC Penney's"

Profanity

  • A dozen or so F-words (I'd say no more than 25) and surprisingly a very small handful of lighter/tamer language.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • One flashback scene has drinking and driving.
  • Moderate smoking, but especially by teens.
  • Some rather heavy drinking is implied; mainly at bars.
  • Surprisingly no drug usage.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • This film is rather tense. One of the main story lines is about this kid who is paralyzed from a car accident due to drinking and driving. Several people are upset at this.
  • There are several scenes of yelling and threatening.
  • Most of all, a mother kills her bed ridden son with a plastic bag (or at least the film once again heavily implies she does; otherwise she attempted to suffocate him)
