Sex & Nudity

  • In opening part girl is sitting in a thong. Girls wear revealing outfits. (Not center focus)
  • A man catcalls a woman from his truck, calling her "sex on a stick" and saying something to the effect of, "You must have a lot of c--ks in that henhouse."
  • A woman gives big hugs to various men throughout the film.
  • Some kissing and playful touching between an engaged couple, but no sex is seen.
  • In the deleted scenes on the DVD a woman is seen from the rear wearing underwear.

Violence & Gore

  • A woman walks onto what appears to be a Civil War battlefield with dead bodies lying around, but it is only a reenactment. Cannon fire can also be heard at times as part of the war reenactment.
  • A man tells an improbable story about a woman who supposedly blew up a bank with a cat inside it.
  • Two kids are seen running around a beach during a thunderstorm. Lightning strikes toward the earth a few times, making them scream. There is one spot in the sand that is sizzling.
  • A woman is punched by another woman.

Profanity

  • 4 uses of Jesus and god 1 use of tits and hick 7 uses of shit 2 used as shitting 3 uses of bitch 2 uses of hell and ass
  • A man says, "She's my fiancée, for C----t's sake."
  • Uses of B*tch and Sh*t a couple of times, otherwise just mild language. Four uses of 'God'/'Jesus'.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • There are a couple bar scenes where characters are drunk and behaving erratically. In one scene, Melanie gets very drunk, stumbles around, and makes embarrassing comments. Later, she throws up in a car, and her husband has to carry her to bed.
  • At one point, a man drinks an entire can in one gulp. He gets mad when someone replaced his alcohol with light beer.
  • A woman makes a reference to her husband being drunk at their wedding reception, to the point where they couldn't even dance together.
  • A young mother brings her baby to a bar, which can be considered questionable.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • It is implied that a woman was pregnant but unfortunately had a miscarriage.
  • Frequent arguing between a married couple. Melanie attempts to wring a divorce signature out of her husband, but he refuses. One vehement altercation results in the wife being arrested, but no violence. A man grabs his intoxicated wife by the shoulder and pulls her out of a bar, yelling at her for her behavior.
  • A reference is made to a dog dying, although it is not shown. A character visits the dog's grave in one scene.
  • A dog jumps into a lake and doesn't emerge for a relatively long period. No one makes any effort to rescue the dog. Melanie asks if the dog can swim, and Jake says "It doesn't look like it."

Sex & Nudity

  • A young boy tells a young girl he wants to marry her someday so he can kiss her anytime he wants. Later, when they are adults, she tells him the same thing.
