You shouldn't judge a whatever by it's whatever, but the title chosen for the 2017 reboot of Power Rangers says quite a bit. It sheds the only slightly more dorky "Mighty Morphin'" of the TV series, positioning itself as another dark and gritty reimagining of something you loved when you were 11. Like that Nsfw James Van Der Beek fan film meets The Breakfast Club. (Or if you loooove corporate entities, go with the full title: Saban's Power Rangers.)
The plot will still be familiar to any '90s kid worth their weight in Dunkaroos: Five teens with attitude stumble upon a set of candy-colored crystal coins buried in a rock quarry and are unwittingly imbued with super powers. (Know what's more unrealistic than a bunch of teen superheroes? Five teenagers just hanging out at a mine.) Shortly thereafter, they meet Zordon in an abandoned spaceship and are tasked with saving the galaxy from Rita Repulsa and her henchmonsters...

It was a Cancun wedding for Survivor: One World contestant Alicia Rosa.
The reality star, who finished fifth on the long-running show in 2012, tied the knot with attorney Mark Waller on Saturday at the Moon Palace Golf & Spa Resort in Cancun.
Several of Rosa’s fellow Survivors attended the ceremony, including Nina Acosta, Matt Quinlan and winners Kim Spradlin Wolfe and Aras Baskauskas.
While the ceremony and the reception went without a hitch, Rosa, 30, did have some trouble finding the perfect dress. After a bridal shop twice failed to deliver the gown she had ordered, Rosa found herself without anything to wear.

Former Survivor producer Bruce Beresford-Redman has been convicted of murder in the 2010 death of his wife. Beresford-Redman, 43, was sentenced to 12 years in prison on Thursday for killing his wife Monica, who disappeared in Cancun nearly five years ago after a shopping trip. Her body eventually was found in the sewer of the Moon Palace resort where the family was staying. Suspicion immediately fell on the producer. Mexico authorities said Beresford-Redman hit his wife in the head with a metal tube, bat or stick and then choked her to death before dumping her body in a hotel sewer. Los Angeles, California (X17online) - Survivor producer and alleged murderer Bruce Beresford-Redman will be extradited to Mexico on Wednesday, RadarOnline.com reports. Beresford-Redman is accused of murdering his wife Monica in April 2010 at the Moon Palace resort in Cancun, where the couple had been vacationing with their two children. After being reported as missing, Monica’s body was discovered in a sewer at the resort with signs of asphyxiation. Beresford-Redman and his legal team unsuccessfully fought extradition to Mexico, and the producer will be forced to turn himself in to Mexican authorities. "We are disappointed in the court's decision denying our request to prevent the extradition of our client, Bruce Beresford-Redman," Beresford Redman’s attorneys said in a statement. "After consultation with him, Bruce has decided not to appeal the decision and to return to Mexico and defend himself on the charges." If convicted, Beresford-Redman faces up to 30 years in Mexican prison.

Terry Gilliam revelaed that he is developing a new feature film during a Q&A at Era New Horizons Film Festival. “I got a book. It’s called ‘Mr. Vertigo’ by Paul Auster. And I’m actually working on a script of it at the moment. Doesn’t mean it will be a film; but I’m working on a script,” said Gilliam.
The book is set in the 1920s and tells the story of "an orphan who is trained to levitate by a mysterious person known only as Master Yehudi, and they travel across the United States as part of circus sideshow, showing off the wondrous feat. The orphan encounters the Americana of the era, dipping into everything from the Lindbergh’s flight, the development of the automobile, the Mob and more."

Novelist Paul Auster has seen his work on screen through a variety of processes: The Music of Chance adapts his novel of the same name (not very well); Smoke and Blue in the Face are the product of a collaborative writing/directing process with Wayne Wang, and Mr. Wang also filmed The Center of the World, on which Mr. Auster was a story collaborator. So: several films, but few direct novel adaptations. That could be in part due to the fact that his books aren't quite straight fiction, but rather a blend of genre tropes, existential curiosity and magical realism. Not the easiest adaptations. Those elements also make up a good part of the ingredient list for Terry Gilliam's scripts, however, and so it makes sense that he is now writing a script based on Mr. Auster's novel Mr. Vertigo. Terry Gilliam recently said at Q&A session, I got a book.

The family of Los Angeles reality television producer Bruce Beresford-Redman is preparing for a showdown with Mexican authorities who have accused him of killing his wife.
"It's ironic that Mr. Beresford-Redman will now have to seek justice in Mexico after the U.S. system failed," family spokesman Stephen Jaffe said in an exclusive email to The Huffington Post. "Unless he's treated fairly down there, few people will ever feel safe traveling to that country again."
On Wednesday, U.S. Magistrate Judge Jacqueline Chooljian signed a 20-page extradition order to send Beresford-Redman to Mexico to face murder charges.
In making her ruling, Chooljian said she doubted Beresford-Redman's credibility. The judge also found there is sufficient evidence of probable cause that Beresford-Redman was involved in Monica Beresford-Redman's 2010 slaying.
