Biddu's International disco hit Summer of 42 was used in the movie. It occurs during the sequence where Dev Anand meets his wife in the night club.
The title music was previously used in Kasauti.
The movie Darling Darling song "Aise Na Mujhe Tum Dekho " was sampled in the Dhoom Title song. The part was "Tumko Main Chura Lunga Tumse, Dil Mein Chhupa Lunga". Pritam took that part of the original and put it in the instrumental part of Dhoom's Title song. It comes at 0: 24 seconds of the song.
Ek Main Hun, Ek Tu" in DARLING DARLING (1977) and "Kahoon Kya, Tumse Apni Daastan" in GINNY AUR JOHNY (1976) sound the same. The non filmed song "Assalam Alaikum" from Apradh,was later partly sampled by Rahul Dev Burman for the song "Ek Main Hoon Ek Tu" for Darling Darling. At 0:59 of the song "Assalam Alaikum" when Asha Bhosle sing's "Al Naseeb,Al Habib", the tune at that part was the exact same as 0:45 of the song "Ek Main Hoon Ek Tu" from Darling Darling. The part when Asha Bhosle sings "Hum Tum Mein, Huuuuuu, Halka Parda Chaiye".
in December 1977, Dev Anand sued producer Kishore Doshi for non payment. Doshi stated Dev shot for the film non stop in 73-74, then started giving other producer's priorities..
