"Film Fun" is "An RKO-Pathe Screenliner" assembled by Burton Benjamin and narrated by Ward Wilson. This one-reel streamlines three silent film shorts for the amusement of theater exhibitors and television programmers with time to kill. Mr. Wilson or his writer may have seen the entire versions of the originals, since he identifies unseen plot points and character names. This is especially evident in the middle entry, "Curfew Shall Not Ring Tonight" with "Basil Underwood" and "Bessie". The beginning and ending dramas are better. They are Biograph films with Lillian Gish, Lionel Barrymore, Harry Carey and Owen Moore. The complete version of "A Cry for Help" (1912) is presently unavailable and "The Policeman's Dilemma" is worth investigating.
The originals were not comedies.
