Z2 Comics has once again teamed up with the team behind The Last Podcast on the Left for The Last Comic Book On The Left Volume 3! Featuring a new group of writers and artists, this horror anthology is now available for pre-order and we have a look at art prints and variant cover art!
"The fevered minds behind The Last Podcast on the Left, Marcus Parks, Henry Zebrowski, and Ben Kissel, have once more joined unholy forces with Z2 Comics for a third tome in the The Last Comic Book on the Left series. Overflowing with stories equally heretic and hilarious, this new anthology has ensnared a new batch of writers and artists to conjure more macabre and profane sequential art inspired by the podcast, featuring doomed descents into Norwegian Black Metal, the Andreasson Affair, the Hollow Moon, and the Edgewood Arsenal (among others).

After a cliffhanger ending in last week's episode, Wynonna Earp had a lot of questions to answer this weekend. After all, it's one thing to do the big reveal; it another thing to explore the implications of that big reveal. In this way, cliffhangers are relatively easier to pull off. How did Wynonna Earp do? Splendidly, of course. We never doubted this show!
The implications of the big pregnancy reveal are ostensibly about how everyone deals with Wynonna's condition. Under the influence of a time spell that has the people of Purgatory falling asleep for a month,...

Description: Former fighter pilot Dillon Carpenter found everything he wanted when he returned from the Vietnam War. But as Dillon prepares, his war trauma returns and he’s haunted by dark visions of his future. There is but one constant; the voice whispering from the stars.
Our Take: Kurtis J. Wiebe is a big name right now and for good reason; his Rat Queens comic is a cutthroat satire that takes aim at the medieval fantasy genre but has the heart to be a truly enjoyable comic as well (as I said back in 2013), and his...

"Conan The Barbarian," the latest adaptation of Robert E. Howard's classic pulp hero, slashed its way into theaters this weekend, marking the franchise's first return to the big-screen since 1984's "Conan The Destroyer." The film takes a fresh start to the Conan legend, and bears no relation to the prior Arnold Schwarzenegger films, but it still draws upon the world that Howard created for his barbaric protagonist.
With that in mind, we're going to take a look at the influences Howard's work had on the film, and examine how closely the film cleaves to the mythos he established.
The film opens with the tale of a magical artifact, known as the Mask of Acheron, forged in ancient times, which was used by the evil sorcerer Xaltotun of the empire of Acheron in his goal of world domination. He was opposed by the barbarian tribes, who defeated him and broke...

I saw The Bourne Identity in theatres with my dad. He'd already read the original trilogy and was excited that they turned it into a movie. During the movie he turned to me and said, "This is nothing like the book, but I like it."
Being poor I was looking through my parents' books to find something to read for the Cannonball; lo and behold, I came across the original trilogy. I set those to the side and kept looking, when I came across The Bourne Legacy. What the fuck? Then Betrayal and Sanction popped up...then I got Deception. My intent was to read the entire series and then write a review not of just the individual books, but the series as a whole (I'm missing two...fucking Eric Van Lustbader). Why? Basically all of the stories are the same, Jason Bourne gets caught up in some crazy government shit,...

After reading Tim Curran's Resurrection, I simply had to interview him. I Really loved his book, even at 666 pages (yep, you read that right – 666). Curran is a wonderful storyteller who really should be unleashed upon the general horror reading public sooner rather than later.
Read on for an in-depth look into the beautifully twisted mind of Tim Curran.
El: First off, Wow!! You put everything And the kitchen sink into Resurrection (review here). Best zombie novel I've read in quite a while! How did the book come into being?
Tc: I read somewhere about a mudslide in California. It washed out a cemetery and the coffins and corpses, skeletons and tombstones ended up in the town itself. Coffins came crashing through picture windows. Cadavers were deposited on porches and in trees, tombstones ended up in front yards. Some woman suffered a fatal heart attack when a casket came through...

Metallic rock titans The Sword have announced January, 2010 U.S. tour dates. The headlining run will launch on January 23 in Corpus Christi, TX. The celebrated quartet will preview brand new songs from its as-yet-untitled third record over the course of the short tour.
The Sword has completed the writing process for its highly anticipated new album and follow up to 2008’s Gods of the Earth. The Sword’s new songs are said to feature a more direct and diverse take on the unit’s dynamic, power-driven sound in addition to “otherworldly / sci-fi” lyrical themes. The band will enter an Austin, TX studio in February to commence recording.
The Sword has taken the music world by storm in the time since the release of its debut album Age of Winters (2006), gaining widespread acclaim for its aggressive sound, mountaintop-friendly hooks and lyrical themes rife with myth and mythology. The band’s sophomore...

Blitzen Trapper’s 2008 breakout LP, Furr, was as enjoyable for its adventurous songs as it was for the glue holding them together. Head Trapper Eric Earley has, by necessity, become an impressive arranger-mixer over the years, which allowed last year’s record to move crisply and easily between jangly country acoustics, fist-pumping shredders, and (on occasion) electronic-infused etherea. But the Black River Killer Ep, which takes its name from Furr’s superb murder ballad, first came into existence as a CD-r the band sold on its most recent tour. And it sounds like it. The search for a lost dog sparked a string of disasters for an American animal-lover, reports say. While hunting for his lost pet, Nathan Seely drove a borrowed Buick on to the frozen surface of Black River in Port Huron, Michigan, which is often used by cars and snowmobiles in winter. After leaving the vehicle, the 31-year-old accidentally locked the keys inside with the engine still running. He was then (more)...

On 22 Dreams, Paul Weller indulges just about every genre he's flirted with over the past 30 years—with the emphasis on "indulge." With The Jam, The Style Council, and a mostly stellar solo career, Weller has dabbled in everything from punk and folk to jazz and house, all cemented by his trademark gritty R&B. Dreams starts out true to form with "Light Nights," a Cat Stevens-esque raga full of smoky ghosts and fiddles that climb around him like vines. It's immediately followed by the disc's title track, a rousing take on the classic Brit-rock perfected by Weller's most enduring influence, Small Faces. It's mostly downhill from there—and with 21 songs total, that's quite a drop. "Black River" is cabaret jazz that strains to relax. "Push It Along" is a generic soul stomper that dry-humps the line between homage and pastiche. If 22 Dreams is Weller's stab at a White Album,...

Jamie Foxx is set to star in Screen Gems' comedy The Break Up Handbook for writer-director Daniel Taplitz and producer Lisa Tornell. The project is scheduled to go into production in December in Los Angeles. Handbook is a farcical comedy about a man (Foxx) who, after being unceremoniously dumped by his fiancee, pens a how-to book on breaking up and becomes a best-selling author on the subject. Not wanting his male friends to suffer the same fate, he gives them advice on dumping their mates, and a comedy of errors ensues. Screen Gems senior vp production Stacy Kolker Cramer is overseeing the project for the studio. Foxx, repped by CAA and manager Jaime King, most recently appeared in Columbia Pictures' Ali and just wrapped production on RKO Pictures' crime drama Shade. Taplitz, repped by Original Artists Agency, wrote and directed the feature Commandments, starring Aidan Quinn and Courteney Cox. His recent writing credits include the telefilm Little Richard and miniseries Black River.
