Where can I buy this one?

Unfortunately I missed the first 5 min. of this series, but after watching for just 2 min. I was completely hooked. Full of excitement and very well played by the actors, specially Tom Long. This story-line is great and not predictable. Somehow I found Joey (Tom Long) very charming and a real he-man, although he was a "bad guy", -and I was a bit ashamed of my admiration for this character.

This proves once again that the Australians are the best in the world at making TV mini series. I remember another great one called "Vietnam".

I gave this one 10 stars out of 10, for this series has everything I am looking for, thrills, excitement and romance. Can anybody tell me WHY I CANNOT BUY THIS ONE ON DVD OR VIDEO???? Please?

Outstanding drama

I have watched this mini series a long, long time ago. And never have I watched anything like it again. I loved every bit of it. The characters are very lifelike, realistic. It is not portrayed in black and white. They all have their virtues and their flaws. From the first minute of the series you are drawn into the plot. The best thing about it is that it'a a good entertainment for both male and female. It has crime and it has romance, and I cannot begin to tell you how thrilling it is. All of the actors give their great performances, but I have to say that Tom Long is really, really great in portraying a thief with a good heart. To anyone who wants to enjoy good TV, I sincerely recommend DO OR DIE.

I was probably one of the few Australians not watching the tennis when this series aired. I have to say when William McInnes first appeared I though, that is one crappy actor! But as the series continued he toned down his performance and I totally loved him. He was such a rotten guy but he did make me laugh. I watched the show to see Hugo Speers (Heart and Bones, The Full Monty) and Tom Long (SeaChange, Two Hands). It was interesting to see Speers play a nice, quiet man and even more interesting to watch Tom Longs' rippling muscles! Sigh... Seriously, Long's performance was a total shock and really brilliant. He stole the show. Martin Sacks was good also in a small role, and the leading actress put in an entertaining performance. I'd recommend this programme if you enjoy stories with a twist and watching Tom Long walk around with no shirt on...

Gripping stuff

I was absolutely mesmerised by this series from the moment Tom Long walked into shot - the whole 'bad boy' thing, it was just addictive.

The story has you hooked, what will happen next - will Joey get the girl in the end, after doing 5 years in prison, and all that time thinking about his lost love, crossing paths with her again, finding he has a son... Although he is a violent bad guy, you still want him to find happiness.

A truly captivating two parter - please bring it out on video!

Lasting performances and a gripping tale.

This has been a personal favourite of mine since it was first shown, as it is a fast paced, gripping story about basic human emotions.Samantha Shepherd's son, Will, is found to have Leukaemia. Blood tests show that her husband is not the biological father and she is sent on a wild chase to find the man she shared a love affair with, 6 years before. There is one small catch - the man is an escaped convict... in Australia!The actors offer lasting performances - Tom Long offers his best yet, in my opinion, as convict Michael Tyler. William McInnes is yet again captivating as crooked cop Daryl Quint and British actor Hugo Speer shines as the wronged husband, Nick.
