A sea yarn in two parts, of a ship with a girl for its captain. Just before setting sail it is found that the crew is a man short and one is shanghaied from the shore, a rich young man who has been drinking. The picture makes a good offering, because the story is unusual, at least not trite. We dare not call it a strong story; for it is rather improbable. except that it is intended to be wholly a romance and, as such, will quite satisfy the majority. Besides there is some humor and laughable incidents, set-tos between the darkie cook and the rather peppery Captain Billy. It will entertain. Grace Cunard plays Captain Billy very well. The photography is clear. - The Moving Picture World, October 4, 1913
