Lets Make this Clear...

This is not a documentary but a "how to" video. For those of you who have a problem with dianetics or for those of you who are apart of this so called "church", this video may be the make it or break it point for your belief. Many of you who are familiar with Bishop Fulton J Sheen will see a lot of Life is Worth Living elements in Hubbard's religion. For those of you who are not familiar with Sheen, you are probably a member of scien-tology. The video does not defend itself, giving evidence for being a religion. There is no God but Man in this video. Also, there are hardly any black people. The video is made for conservative, clean cut, white people who are not a member of any church. There are hardly any lower middle class or poor people in the video, nor are there any races outside conservative white people from California or the mid west. This is a nice "self help" video, but far from a belief. Some of the scenes in the video are funny because of the bad acting. Otherwise, if not for a quick laugh, the video only degrades the efforts made by Hubbard's followers as something worth living.

It Makes Clear what Dianetics is

Although this documentary is not a documentary, it does state what dianetics is and is not. A self help video, explaining what dianetics is, the video shows you the process of their "religion." For those who are curious and nothing more, this is a good start before buying a copy of Hubbard's book. Made in 1992, the wardrobe that the actors in the video wear are very 80's / early 90's conservative. This is the video's weakest point. Besides the faith acting from the actors, the video only advertises conservative / clean cut / upper middle class people using dianetics. 90% of the people in the video are "white" and you hardly see any minorities. The video identifies to its audience what the "clear" process dianetics offer, then again, it is advertising the kind of audience dianetic is looking for.
