Agreeably lunatic philosophy lesson
kmoh-127 March 2020
A rather splendid short series of pieces with Steen Rasmussen and Michael Wikke as two lorry drivers who happen to be called Søren Kierkegaard, or who are the two selves of the same Søren Kierkegaard, and educate each other in the religious psychology of the eponymous philosopher. For example, the Either/Or is illustrated by Thomas, a timid bank clerk who is haunted, and taunted, by another version of his self, who urges him to rob the bank, and Lise, a conscientious police officer who falls in love with a "nasty man" whom she has just arrested. In the final episode, the cast is bolstered by an appearance by famous Danish director Astrid Henning-Jensen, as a little old lady who always happens to be at the bank till at the very point when Thomas is having existential crises. Utterly insane, unique, and great fun.
