Anthony Wong is a reformed criminal out to save his brother., 2 MÁRCIUS 2005
Author: Captain_Couth (sirjosephu@aol.com) from Sacramento, CA
Hong Kong History X (2000) is a film about a former criminal (Anthony Wong Chau Sang) who tries to prevent his younger brother from following in his foot steps. It's tempting to live the fast life but little brother wants to become like his older sibling (despite the fact he's in the joint doing a long stretch for his gang). Is Wong really reformed and repentive for his past crimes? Will his old running buddies try and convince him to rejoin their "illegal" activities? To find out you'll have to check out Hong Kong History X.
The movie has some similarities to American History X (that explains the English title) but not enough to call it a straight rip off. More like an attempt to get people to watch this above average action film. These criminals have no soul and prey upon poor kids and adults to do their bidding. Anthony Wong is barely in the movie but his acting abilities more than make up for it.
For Anthony Wong fans only.
