Sex & Nudity

  • A naked teenage girl and boy are seen under covers in bed together, implying an ongoing sexual relationship. No explicit nudity is seen.
  • A teenage girl is shown completely nude in the fetal position on the floor. No visible genitalia.

Violence & Gore

  • A pig is bludgeoned to death offscreen to collect its blood for the prank.
  • Margaret has a tendency to be abusive to her daughter by slapping her, dragging her into the prayer closet by force, and throwing tea in her face.
  • There is quite a bit of fast-moving violence, but most of the goriness is suggested rather than shown onscreen, explicitly.

Profanity

  • Religious exclamations like "god" are present and a few uses of mild language like "hell", "damn", "bitch", "whore", "ass", "cow", "slut", "gay", "retarded", "crap", "suck it" and "piss".
  • Since this is a made-for-TV movie, there is little profanity, but much of the dialogue might be somewhat repugnant to especially pious Christian viewers.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Teenage characters smoke cigarettes and drink alcoholic beverages.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The scenes where Carrie is abused by Margaret can be intense.
  • Scenes where Carrie is bullied by her peers can be intense.
  • The infamous prom massacre after Carrie is once again humiliated by a prank is very frightening and quite intense.
