Sex & Nudity

Violence & Gore

  • Compared to the original more The WBish version of the game, this UPNish more popular version, the violence takes a more sinister form, as we see meteors, and natural disasters and hurricane. The aftermath is far more brutal than the original.
  • Dependant on version: the original 1998 version of the game is somewhat equally violent, but the aftermath and everything shown is not as lethal or realistic.
  • The opening intro video to the game in "Unlimited" is more intense and violent (in terms of the graphic depiction of natural disasters, and aliens making crop circles) than the video in the original version. The music is far moree intense, and the ending is brutal. We see a violent meteor shower. Not for the faint of heart.
  • Cinemax content advisory for the "Unlimited" version intro video: rated TV-MA for violence (V). BBFC rating 15.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The music, and the nature of disasters and chaos in this version of the game are far more chilling and unnerving and very realistic, compared to the original game.
  • Dependant on version: the 1998 version is only moderately creepy (as there are tracks like "Urban Complex," and "Power Grid" which are scary). But compared to "Unlimited," the recovery process is far more happy-go-lively.
  • The 1999 version, "Unlimited" is extremely realistic and unnerving as far more in quantity of unnerving musical selections, such as "The Sixth Floor," "The Howling Wind," "City of Dreams," "Desert Sand." Even the main menu music is creepier, as opposed to the more happier, though minimalist 1998 version.
