Mumbai, Feb 22 (Ians) Actor, writer and director Rahul Bose, who will be seen in the upcoming web series ‘Taj – Divided by Blood’, has shared what prompted him to take up the project and also briefed about his role in the series.
Rahul, who plays Mirza Muhammad Hakim, the third son of the Mughal Emperor Humayun, said: “I felt that the role was very well-edged. I thought that the big attraction was to act opposite Naseeruddin Shah, play his fundamentalist stepbrother and portray a conflicted relationship. I think these were the two main reasons that the role was well-edged.
“I had a very fruitful conversation with Ron Scalpello (director) in terms of his conceptualisation of the character and the way it was written.”
He also talked about his interest in Mughal history, saying: “I am well-versed as anybody else who read history in school, may be a little bit more than that.

Actor Jisshu Sengupta, who is balancing a film career in multiple languages and is geared up for his sci-fi web series "Skyfire", says slowly but surely Bengali cinema is reaching out to the national audience as the theatrical release of regional films has expanded.
Bengali cinema has had an impact at international film festivals with the work of iconic filmmakers like Satyajit Ray, Mrinal Sen, and Ritwik Ghatak among others, apart from movies by filmmakers like Rituparno Ghosh, Aparna Sen, and Goutam Ghose or Kaushik Ganguly and Srijit Mukerji. Filmmaker Suman Mukhopadhyay has roped in the unusual pair of Rahul Bose and Konkona Sharma in his next film. This pair was last seen together in the much acclaimed Mr. And Mrs. Iyer. Rahul and Konkona will now be seen playing Amit and Labanya in Mukhopadhyay's adaptation of the Tagore classic 'Shesher Kabita'.
Suman, who will be directing the film, wants to concentrate on this love story and more so, on the characters not forgetting the aspect of puzzlement in all human relationships. Since the film will be based on the characters, Suman needed good actors who could also step into the shoes of the characters that Tagore has created. Besides both characters are erudite and have a strong intellectual background. Hence, Suman's casting of Rahul and Konkona. The film's shoot will take place in May-June, in Kolkata, Shillong and Oxford. Confirming this Rahul tweeted, "Looks like @konkonas and I...
