I saw this 20-plus minute art-school project in the summer of 1988 at the York Theater in San Francisco, as part of a program of similar short subjects supporting a rare screening of the Todd Haynes film 'Superstar: the Karen Carpenter Story' (this was still three years before that notorious feature was banned for its unauthorized use of copyrighted music).

Regarding 'Der Elvis': perhaps the less said the better. The film is a schlock-punk portrait which rapes the King of Rock 'n' Roll in his grave, by trying very hard to be as offensive as possible. It's crap like this that gives bad taste a bad name.
