The landscape of the detective genre is one that has been trampled underfoot by many a detective in recent years, who during a prolific spell have haunted the landscape with their habitual misery and eccentricity. The source of this richness is primarily imported from the shores of mainland Europe and America, the latter of which has responded to the wave of European crime dramas, The Killing and The Bridge the apex of these with a tour de force all of their own – True Detective. Whilst in England we are delving into the past of Endeavour Morse and busily springing Sherlock Holmes from his Victorian trappings, a detective who Wales can call its own has emerged to haunt the ground alongside his English speaking and foreign contemporaries. His name is Tom Mathias.

The One Direction Brit Awards sponsored by Mastercard. With added One Direction, jokes about One Direction, special performances from One Direction and a made up award for One Direction.
The Brit Awards have never been scintillating telly - don't let hazy nostalgia about Jarvis Cocker bum-wiggling or Chumbawumba water-chucking fool you - but this year really took the biscuit, as two hours of James Corden backslapping the world of pop and its record execs felt longer than a Oscar Pistorius bail hearing.
When the best performance of the night comes from squeaky clean American country girl Taylor Swift, you know things are looking bleak. The only glimmer of excitement came when Louis Smith and Jack Whitehall presented a gong together in the manner of a couple going though an expensive and mucky divorce. Someone hire them to host next year, we might have another Fox and Fleetwood on our hands.

Wasps. What are they good for? Well, as the old song goes, absolutely nothing – apart from to irritate the hell out of you on a hot summer's day. And even worse, they'll sting you without a second thought. At least bees may think twice about this, given that they're committing suicide in the process. But the wasp has no such mechanism to make it as benign, and more to the point, they'll make you look a fool in the process. Whether you're freezing like a waxwork dummy or doing some sort of crazy war dance in a vain bid to get rid of the annoying bugger, they'll still sting you like no tomorrow.
So a giant wasp should scare the bejesus out of any living man, woman or child. No wonder the latest Doctor Who story makes a virtue out of this with a story called The Unicorn And The Wasp.

When were you happiest?
Happy is my natural state.
What is your greatest fear?
Technology taking over.
What is your earliest memory?
Walking on stage at three and a half, being blinded by the lights and not liking it much.
What is the trait you most deplore in yourself?
I don't take money seriously, so I can't keep any.
What is the trait you most deplore in others?
Envy.
What was your most embarrassing moment?
Talking to a mechanic with my flies...

Another game review from Marcus about a witch with guns named Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme. Nice! Gone are the days of green-skinned crones with warts and unfashionable pointy hats. Bayonetta, the impossibly stylish star of Sega’s latest opus, is anything but your stereotypical witch. Sporting a tight leather outfit, black boots and girl next door glasses, say hello to the new cosplay pinup girl. From the creative genius that brought us the Devil May Cry series, Bayonetta is staking its claim as the most ludicrous, over-the-top game currently on the market. A third person action beat/shoot/hack ‘em up, it kicks off [...]
