- Interactive psychological thriller and FMV game based on the eponymous 1984 novel Tender Loving Care by author Andrew Neiderman. Psychiatrist Dr. Turner presents the player with one of his cases and asks the player to try to figure out what's going on while he or she is viewing the story. The main character of Dr. Turner's case is a worried young husband Michael Overton, who asks him for help, since his wife Allison Overton has become completely delusional and refuses to accept that their little daughter has died in a car accident. Dr. Turner sends him Katherine Randolph, a live in nurse and psychiatric professional, whose task is to take care of Allison and eventually help her deal with her tragic loss. However, beautiful Katherine soon shows her sinister side, when she begins her unorthodox treatment which includes mind games with Michael. Things begin to escalate soon and Michael starts questioning his motives, and even identity, but also his sanity. Is Katherine actually their for some sinister reason or is Michael slowly losing his mind? Or is there a perfectly reasonable explanation for the characters' strange behavior? That depends on player's choices. The game is split into sections or acts and between each of these, Dr. Turner has a short Q&A with the player about his or her impressions about everything that was happening in the previous act. He also makes a quick psycho-profile of the player through associations and questions about the player's fantasies. The player also gets to explore the Overtons' house between each act and listen to the characters' personal recordings or read their diary entries and find out more about the characters' motivations and state of mind overall. All of this influences the game's tone, which can get quite dark and psycho-sexual, as well as the game's finale and which ending the player will get. Each ending is supposedly meant to reflect the mental state of the player as well. The game was also edited into a two hour feature-length straight-to-video movie.
