EDINBURGH, Scotland -- Comedy Central has struck a deal with Fremantle North America unit TalkbackThames to make 14 episodes of successful U.K. entertainment game show Distraction. The U.S. show will be fronted by British comedian Jimmy Carr, who anchored the U.K. series on Channel 4. Carr is no stranger to American comedy fans, having recently headlined the Montreal and Aspen comedy festivals and appeared on The Tonight Show and Late Night With Conan O'Brien. "We are huge fans of Jimmy's dry, cutting style and look forward to introducing him to an American audience," Comedy Central senior vp original programming and head of development Lauren Corrao said in a statementFriday. "We could have spent months trying to cast someone else, but at the end of the day, they wouldn't have been as funny as the original. Jimmy was the obvious choice."...
