ABC easily won the night on the strength of the two-hour conclusion of its three-part special, Trista & Ryan's Wedding, spawned from ABC's popular Bachelor/Bachelorette matchmaking series. Wedding drew an average of 17.1 million viewers and a 7.2 rating/18 share in the adults 18-49 demographic from 9-11 p.m., according to Nielsen Media Research. Viewership peaked from 10-10:30 p.m. at 19.4 million viewers and an 8.3/21 in 18-49.

Reality TV ruled the primetime roost Wednesday as Fox enjoyed a bountiful demo harvest from the second episode of The Simple Life, while ABC scored with Trista & Ryan's Wedding and Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. Fox and ABC tied for the night in the adults 18-49 demographic. Fox was buoyed by the stellar performance at 8:30 p.m. from Simple Life, featuring the "It" girl Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie in a Green Acres-esque setting, brought in 13.3 million viewers and 6.6 rating/18 share. (The half-hour comedy-reality show brought in 13 million viewers and 5.9/16 in its debut Tuesday.) That '70s Show opened the night for Fox at 8 p.m. with a solid 10.1 million viewers and 4.8/14 in 18-49. At 9 p.m., the reality audience turned to ABC for the second episode of its limited-run series on the nuptials of former Bachelorette Trista Rehn. Wedding dominated the 9 p.m. hour with an average of 13.2 million viewers and 6.0/16 in adults 18-49, according to Nielsen Media Research.
