Sex & Nudity

Violence & Gore

  • Bowler Hat Guy is hit by a tossed box of gadgets after Doris tells him to "Watch Out". Played for laughs.
  • Near the end of the movie, Franny has a bruise on her forehead.
  • Lewis' peanut butter and jelly machine accidentally shoots just that all over a couple that's interested in adopting him. The man then has an allergic reaction to the peanut butter and the woman must inject a syringe into his leg to stop that. This is played lightly, but it's portrayed realistically and may upset those who have food allergies or sensitivity.

Profanity

  • Bowler Hat Guy writes "get that $&@: boy" on a to-do list.
  • One use of the term "pansy"

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • A man is jabbed with an epipen like device after suffering an allergic reaction.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Mr. Harrington has an anaphylactic shock reaction to peanuts, he completely swells up. Even though it's portrayed in a humorous way this scene may be offensive to those who have food allergies.
  • The ending scene with the song "Little Wonders" is very poignant.
  • T-Rex-like dinosaur is trying to catch Lewis, and at some point he is inside the jaws.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • Doris impales a robot through the gut, and the robot says a few words to Wilbur before dying. This is undone when Lewis prevents Doris' creation.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Once, when the world has been taken over by Doris, Wilbur's family becomes mind controlled by Doris and try to push our main protagonists off the edge of a building in the time machine. This is a nightmare-like scene, as Wilbur is sucked into a vortex, the sky turns dark, all the buildings become modeled after Doris, a giant version of Doris attacks, and there is a video of several Dorises attacking and presumably killing the Bowler Hat Guy. However, Lewis prevents all of this through time travel.
  • Doris dissolves into dust when her invention is prevented.
