Ed Westwick (“Gossip Girl”), John Hannah (“The Mummy”) and British newcomer Alanah Bloor are set to join Turkish lead Can Yaman in “Sandokan,” Lux Vide’s reboot of the cult Italian TV series about the adventures of its titular pirate who, with his motley crew, fights against colonial powers in Southeast Asia.
Shooting is set to start April 22 outside Rome on this high-end reboot of Italian writer Emilio Salgari’s exotic epic. The original “Sandokan,” directed in 1976 by Sergio Sollima, catapulted Indian actor Kabir Bedi to Bollywood stardom, having sold to more than 85 countries around the world.
Fremantle-owned Lux Vide’s new spin on the storied “Sandokan” IP is based on an idea by Lux Vide CEO Luca Bernabei developed for TV by Alessandro Sermoneta (“Devils”); Scott Rosenbaum (“The Shield”); Davide Lantieri (“Monterossi”) and directed by Jan Maria Michelini (“Devils”) and Nicola Abbatangelo (“Doc”).

Remember when American Horror Story: Apocalypse flashed back to Russia in 1918 to reveal that Anastasia Romanov was a literal witch? Well, the FX anthology outdid itself on Wednesday by shoehorning Mia Farrow into the insanity that is AHS: Delicate.
The season’s penultimate episode takes us back to Manhattan in 1967, where an overwhelmed Farrow is in the midst of filming Rosemary’s Baby. We get a feel-good moment between the actress and then-husband Frank Sinatra, who threatens to divorce her if she doesn’t quit the movie. “Marriage isn’t about what’s fair,” Ol’ Blue Eyes tells her, one of...

Margaret Qualley is no longer going to star in Hulu’s limited series about Amanda Knox, Variety has confirmed.
The untitled series was announced in March with Qualley set to star and executive produce. She has reportedly exited the project due to scheduling conflicts. The role will now be recast.
This is not the first time Hulu has lost its lead actress in a limited series based on a real person. Kate McKinnon was once attached to play Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes in what would become “The Dropout,” the role that was eventually played by Amanda Seyfried. Seyfried would go on to win an Emmy for her work on the show.
Hulu has ordered eight one-hour episodes of the show. The official description states that it is “based on the true story of how Knox was wrongfully convicted for the murder of her roommate Meredith Kercher and her 16-year odyssey to set herself free.

Blake Lively was unrecognizable in her role as a grieving woman who seeks revenge in Reed Morano’s The Rhythm Section. Lively’s Bond-style film flopped really badly at the box office. During the filming of a scene in the film, Lively injured her hand, requiring surgery and shutting down the production for six months. The critics praised Lively’s performance, but her sacrifices were not enough to save the film from an embarrassing fate.
Blake Lively in The Rhythm Section
The poor marketing efforts of the film did not help its case after a thinly written plot. The film had the all-time worst opening weekend record for a film playing over 3000 screens. By the end of the second week, Lively’s film was pulled from 2955 screens.

Sebastian Stan has proven, time and time again, that he knows how to immaculately deliver what he signs up for, irrespective of the character (or even person) that he has to play. His perfect portrayal of Bucky aka the Winter Soldier in the MCU is the true evidence of this claim, among others. That being said, his next film sees him effortlessly slip into a different avatar as well.
Sebastian Stan in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
As most die-hard fans must already know, one of Stan’s next performances would see him embodying the former president of the United States, Donald Trump. Yet, even though his first look in character makes him look like a scarily accurate version of Trump, fans can’t help but point out that it is not as accurate as all of his previous masterpiece portrayals.

Update: More than 300 Jewish creatives — including eight-time Oscar-winning composer Alan Menken, “SNL” star Sarah Sherman, actor and documentarian Alex Winter and “Seinfeld” writer Larry Charles — have added their names to the list of signatories of an open letter in support of Jonathan Glazer’s Oscars speech.
The number of signees now sits at 455, having more than tripled since Variety first published the April 5 letter, which criticized the attacks on Glazer for being a “dangerous distraction” from the mounting death toll in Gaza while also contributing to the “suppression of free speech and dissent.”
New additions also include Oscar-winning “Anatomy of a Fall” co-writer Arthur Harari, veteran U.K. producer and Oscar winner Jeremy Thomas, “Girls” co-showrunner and co-writer Jenni Konner and “The Hunger Games” writer and director and four-time Oscar nominee Gary Ross. Life as a teenager has drastically changed since technology's inception and the evolution of world views.
I am, admittedly, on the older side of Gen-z. I only recently realized I was not technically a millennial, having been born in 1997.
This is mainly because being in high school for me (2012-2016) is worlds away from what being in high school looks like now.
It feels like the world switched right after I graduated high school, and I have experienced both the older and the younger side of the generation.
People tend to forget that being born in 1997 and 2006 gives each a completely different experience, despite being grouped as one generation that Must all act and think the same.
I looked at the girls only a couple of years younger than me, and clearly, the 'awkward phase' of Hollister tees and oddly lengthed shorts was no longer a thing.

Selena Gomez Starred As Alex Russo In Wizards Of Waverly Place(Photo Credit –Instagram/IMDb)
Selena Gomez is officially on board for a reboot of her breakthrough show, Wizards of Waverly Place. It’s time for some nostalgia, as early Disney fans might remember the Wirzard family that was loved by all. Selena Gomez is a global superstar, actress, and producer, but everyone remembers her as the witty Alex Russo. The show was iconic for many reasons, but you may also not forget the eccentric best friend, Harper Finkle, played by actress Jennifer Stone. But did you know Selena’s former Wizards co-star Jennifer is now a nurse?
Wizards of Waverly Place on Disney was an iconic show for many growing up in the early 2000’s Disney era. The show starred Gomez, David Henrie, and Jake T Austin as siblings growing up in a wizard family living in the human world.

It’s been over two decades since Reese Witherspoon wowed us with her blonde beauty and brains in the first installment of the “Legally Blonde” franchise.
Due to the widely positive reception of the first movie, the sequel “Legally Blonde: Red, White and Blonde” followed in 2003.
This was later followed by the 2009 direct-to-video spinoff “Legally Blondes,” which served as sort of a pilot for a potential series, but this did not take.
“Legally Blonde 3” has been in the works for several years with Mindy Kaling and Dan Goor working on the script, but nothing has come of it until now.

Actors’ Equity President Kate Shindle has announced that she will not seek re-election when her nine-year tenure ends May 23.
Shindle, who revealed the news in an interview with The New York Times, said she will remain active in the labor movement but intends to focus on resuming her acting career. She told The Times that her position as Equity president – an unpaid volunteer position – left her with so little time for her acting career that she hasn’t been able to clock enough professional hours to quality for Equity health insurance.
In a statement posted on her Instagram account, Shindle said, “It’s been one of my greatest honors to serve as the top officer of our union since 2015, and it sure has been a hell of a ride. Since March 2020, the vast majority of my creative energy has gone into solving our collective problems – sometimes successfully, sometimes making frustratingly incremental gains.

Long before Greta Gerwig's pink pop cultural juggernaut Barbie came along, the fuchsia feminist revolution began with 2001's Legally Blonde. As blonde and brilliant SoCal socialite-turned-Harvard law student Elle Woods, Reese Witherspoon helped create a bona-fide cult classic and one of the 21st century's first great big screen heroines. Now, a couple of decades after 2003 sequel Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde, Witherspoon is gearing up to return to Elle Woods' world with her Hello Sunshine production company for several new Amazon spin-off series.
As reported by Deadline, Witherspoon — whose first Hello Sunshine/Amazon collaboration, Daisy Jones & The Six, debuted on Prime Video last year — is set to team up with Gossip Girl developers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage for the first project, which is furthest along in development. Schwartz and Savage are set to write the series, whose plot currently remains tightly under wraps, with Witherspoon taking on a producing role.

According to Variety, a TV series set in the world of Legally Blonde is in development at Amazon Prime Video. Witherspoon will produce the television series through her Hello Sunshine production company, though it hasn’t yet been confirmed if she will also reprise her role.

Bring your pink suit to the dry cleaners because Legally Blonde is making a comeback, and you’ll want to dress to impress! Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter will produce the Legally Blonde spinoff TV series via Hello Sunshine alongside Legally Blonde film producer Marc Platt. The Ghostbusters universe seems to be getting awfully crowded. The latest film in the franchise, celebrating its 40th anniversary (gulp), features a plethora of ghostbusters old and new, including the surviving members of the original cast, the characters introduced in 2021’s Ghostbusters: Afterlife, and a variety of eccentric new figures who are bound to figure in future installments. The only ones left out, it would seem, are the female ghostbusters from 2016’s unfairly maligned reboot, who should at least have merited a respectful cameo.
Nonetheless, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire tries hard, very hard, to satisfy the series’ fans with plenty of nostalgic throwbacks and mainly succeeds. It’s not nearly as good as the classic 1984 original, but then again, neither was 1989’s Ghostbusters II, and that one was directed by Ivan Reitman and written by Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis, all of whom were responsible for the original. So the fact...

Xoxo, Upper East Siders. Chuck Bass is getting married and Lily Van Der Woodsen is invited.
“I miss that character, but I am still in touch with almost everyone from the show. I am going to Ed’s [Westwick] wedding and I am so excited,” admitted “Gossip Girl” star Kelly Rutherford at French TV festival Series Mania.
In the “still relevant” show, she played the impossibly glamorous mother of Blake Lively’s Serena.
“It was before this whole super politically correct time. We were on the verge of it and there is just a different energy about it. After the first season, we knew [it was huge].”
“Gossip Girl” ended in 2012.
“The women I grew up with were very chic, but I hadn’t really seen a mother like that on TV. I didn’t realize how much people loved Lily – until now. At first, it was all about these kids. We were just parents.

“Salem’s Lot” Will Skip Theaters to Stream Exclusively
The long-in-development film adaptation of Stephen King’s “Salem’s Lot” is being made, after all, but will no longer premiere in theaters, opting for a Max-exclusive streaming premiere this year with an official date to be announced later.
Originally intended for a September 2022 theatrical release, New Line Cinema pushed the film to 2023 citing the Covid-19 pandemic shutdown for delays before removing it from its release calendar entirely. King’s 1975 novel was first adapted for the screen with CBS’s 1979 miniseries starring David Soul.
“Salem’s Lot” is written and directed by Gary Dauberman (“Annabelle”). The new version will see Ben Mears (Lewis Pullman) return to his childhood home of Jerusalem’s Lot looking to come up with an idea for a new novel but discovers his hometown’s residents are becoming vampires.
