I LOVE "I Like Mike" !
sawznhamrs-121 November 2005
The other commentator has NO sense of humor. This short film is ADORABLE as it reveals gay guys being just like any other guys who play ball, chew tobacco, and horse around. It captures the camaraderie of team membership, the great American pass-time, baseball, in a wholesome harmless atmosphere. The absence of anything overtly sexual brings home the point that homosexual orientation is only a PART of life in being GAY. Every person would benefit from seeing this film short by being forced to consider being GAY is not all about naked male sexual activity! Jay Spears is a genius in capturing the spirit of this REALITY, whether anyone likes the reality or not! I would buy this "short" to have in my collection to enjoy again and again.

Sexiest music video ever made
copdigger639 October 2005
Warning: Spoilers
Having watched an amazing stand-up comedy special on the Logo network, a short film appeared, and suddenly I was gifted with the presence of some really butch baseball players. Jay Spears' video was an answer to a prayer, it appealed right to my all-American-boy-hero fantasy. I loved everything about it - the shower scenes, "Mike" and Jay swing-dancing arm-in-arm, the whole team frolicking on the field making a human pyramid, Mike's super-macho stare behind those sun-glasses. Yeah, when it comes to sexy music videos, this is the one to beat. Yet, all the while, it had great guitar playing, a very catchy beat, and the lyrics were hilarious - "Mike's got an attitude bordering on brattitude". I lost it when I saw the Esther Williams-style overhead shots and the shots with the team in a chorus line swinging the bats as the camera passed, much like the Rockettes. I think I watched this about 10 or 15 times and you will, too, if you see it. Just watch the Logo channel and wait for it to come on.

Thank you, Jay Spears, thank you so much.

This is Lame

Warning: Spoilers
This is the worst thing I ever saw on the new LoGo channel. Catchy Tune I will admit but it is Dumb.I'm one for Gay Rights but this has got to go, it makes Gay people look silly. Its really hard to say anything good about this video other than the channel you see it on is great. Every time It plays I hit the mute button. The words are in my head right now and I wish it was not.The worst line in the video is, "He doesn't Chew because I asked him not too".(They are talking about chewing tobacco)This guy on this video can't sing very well and toward the end of the video they all pile up on each other and if you look closely you can see a one man grabbing another man's privates.

What's Not to Like?

Far too cute for 1,000 words, this gay-baseball rap video is fun because it has fun. Yes, the words are silly and addictive; yes, the performances are amateur--in the best sense. The whole idea seems to be just putting it out there: we are who we are, the L.A. Batboys, who play, dance, rap and act just like guys on any weekend ballclub. That there is an emotional attraction between lead rapper Jay Spears and the bear-like Mike is just one more bit of reality that is worth celebrating, like a good day at the park and a hot shower after the game. I suppose you can attach all kinds of deeper meaning if you want to delve; my inclination is just to like Mike and all these "guy" guys right back.
