Sex & Nudity

  • Nude murals in the background during an extended scene at Rosings. Very noticeable.
  • Brief close-up of a pig's prominent testicles as it is led away
  • During a visit to Pemberly, several marble statues and several paintings depicting both male and female nudity are shown in detail, but they are displayed as part of a private art collection and are depicted as art. They are not displayed or referred to by the characters in a sexual context. A depiction of the admiration of classical art similar to Michaelangelo or Da Vinci.
  • Two characters kiss. There is not a single kissing scene until the last few minutes of the film.
  • Very brief clip of noticeable cleavage as a woman leans over in a formal evening dress.
  • A clergyman briefly mentions "intercourse" in a non-sexual context while delivering a sermon. He quickly realizes how the word could be misconstrued, and rephrases it as, "the intercourse of friendship or civility."

  • Elizabeth receives a letter informing her that her younger sister has run away with a man who is notorious for taking advantage of naive young ladies and then abandoning them or using their apparent loss of purity as hostage to seek an unreasonable dowry. Elizabeth is afraid that she might not ever see her sister again.
