Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Sex & Nudity

  • Beth talks about and/or implies that she might have sexual relations with her boyfriend on their date, but because Rachel joins them, it seems that the plans are changed.
  • Beth tries to get Rachel and a bus driver interested in each other. She says he's sexy, and asks him to take off his shirt. (He doesn't, of course.)

Violence & Gore

  • Some men (who are later said to not know right from wrong) assault a Jesse, and they fight; they all end up in the hospital and appear banged up (but they all seem fine-ish). We only see part of the fight.
  • Jesse practices martial arts (and later seems to use them in the fight mentioned in another entry).

Profanity

  • While there's no foul language, it should be noted that some unkind language is used toward Beth by people on the bus (some assume she's using government money to get her bus pass, but a woman assumes both that and assumes that she doesn't have a bus pass and is riding free, at the same time). Most of the time, everyone ignores it, but the driver stands up for her once.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Rachel orders an alcoholic drink for herself and Jesse, but Beth comes back, intervenes, and doesn't let Jesse consume the drink (for the sake of his safety/health, due to being on medication and maybe other stuff).

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Beth and/or Racehl have a flashback (or similar) about going to get Beth's tubes tied (Beth changes her mind soon before she falls unconscious). She later is emotional about it after holding someone's baby.
  • Beth and Rachel's father is in the hospital in a coma. In the next scene, we learn he died; there's a funeral--and later on, Beth's boyfriend is in the same hospital (he's wounded, but seems to be fine).
