In the world of shorts there are, in my opinion, only a few ways to go. The right way and then the others. What is Funny, definitely goes down the first. It doesn't try and make it's audience understand what's going on in the beginning. There is no great set-up or narration to "plunk" the viewer into the passenger's seat. The movie it's self is the question. What is funny? Who knows? Really; the short is very much like a dish set down from another country in a dream. Do I eat this? Is this a decoration? As you approach this dish, in the course of the short, you are drawn into and become a part of the very thing that, at it's onset, seemed so distant and strange. The colors and the sound, the way the camera captures this world so adjacent to our own is all but entrancing.
All in all, this short does it right...it's like getting a hard kick to the groin with a fuzzy slipper; pink.
Honestly, this is funny and a little scary all at the same time. Like Orwell.
