The demon, social ambition, wrecks the home of Edward Morrison, a rising young artist. His wife, Katherine, squanders his money on fine feathers and entertainments. He reproaches her and Katherine hearkening to the evil counsel of Harold Hitchcock, a social viper, divorces Edward. In a few months Hitchcock seeks to rid himself of Katherine. She charges him with having lured her away from her husband, and demands that he marry her. He laughs at her demands. "Marry you?" he exclaims; "never." Realizing her great mistake. Katherine again seeks Edward to plead forgiveness. It is too late. Morrison, since his divorce, has married Edith, his model, who is bringing him that happiness which Katherine could not.
