Sex & Nudity

  • Mild sexual insults occur in a couple of episodes.
  • In the episode "Signals", 3 men go into a strip club and strippers are seen, mostly just topless, with one woman being fully nude, yet the three men that see her do not look at her sexually but with concern for her well-being.
  • A woman is seen hooked onto a cross made of tv screen nude, save for a metallic bar across her pelvic region. She's seen topless yet without clearly defined nipples.

Violence & Gore

  • Some gunfire is seen and blood is shown.
  • Some people get beaten to different degrees of savagery. Some to a near-dead pulp.
  • A family is implied to get vaporized by a nuclear bomb.
  • A man cracks open an egg and sees blood in the yolk and calls it "wrong."
  • A man's father, after talking in an anti-American way, gets blown up by an air-to-land bomb.
  • A young boy's mother dies from cancer.
  • A computer gets locked on and explodes from an em pulse with the intention to blow up a computer hacker.
  • A female hacker gets a syringe stuck in her neck and gradually dies.
  • A man committs suicide by shooting himself (you don't see him do the act, but you hear the gunshot and the blood splatter against the upper wall and ceiling of where he was).
  • A cat is seen crucified with an additional slit in its stomach. Very graphic and disturbing, not for the faint-hearted, animal lover or not.
  • A man is thrown overboard a ship and gets eaten by sharks.
  • A man lets another man cut off his arm, very bloody and graphic.
  • A man gets cut in his neck and starts to bleed out.
  • A man is thrown by a pulse and lands very hard on the floor and starts to bleed from his nose and mouth.

Profanity

  • Frequent swearing through the whole series. Most of the time, by Raimi. Military soldiers tend to use frequent swearing as well, including racial slurs againt a Muslim man. In the episode "Signals", every cussword that is not a racial slur is used at least once.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • A man collects mushrooms along a roadside and uses them in a tea concoction of his and calls it a "poison" as shock value.
  • Three men drink mushroom-induced tea and have different hallucinative flashbacks according to their lifestyles.
  • Four people are drugged from drinking what's described "simply sparkling grape drink."

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • There are several very heavy-handed and controversial themes dealt with in this series, some of which may trigger people have dealt with the same things, including a war on terrorism, hatred against other people groups, the loss of family and friends, inability to recognize truth within religion, animal cruelty, inducing fear into people to control them, etc.
  • Whenever a woman panics, she ends up changing her voice (in an extremely creepy, spine-chilling way). Every time this happens, it can be seen as intense.
  • This series has many intense moments from from episode to last. The last being among the most intense.
