Sex & Nudity

  • Some episodes revolve around a serial killer killing prostitutes
  • Some crimes envolves sexuality such as necrophilia and pedophilia.
  • Some sexual violence
  • Men and women in their undergarments throughout the series.
  • Scenes in S6:E4 have men and women partially undressed, making out in compromising positions at a private sex club.

Violence & Gore

  • The crime scenes always involve some form of violence and is always presented in a disturbing, violent manner. This series is frequently gory, bloody and violent.
  • One killer cuts the faces off his victims. We see the faces of the victims in the killers house in strong gory graphic detail.
  • Strong gory bloody violence througout the show. Very frequent stong gory bloody violence and violent imagery throughout.
  • Almost every episode has strong gory bloody violence, strong gory bloody imagery, strong gory injury detail.
  • Some sexual violence throughout
  • Sometimes a lot of the violence is offscreen.
  • A large variety of murders are shown, as are the resulting dead bodies. The bodies vary in gore from episode to episode, as does the amount of blood, but is always very violent. Some cases are more violent, but still always very violent, than others. These can range from kidnapping, robberies, fires, explosions, home invasions, and even ritualistic cases.

Profanity

  • Some uses of language such as "hell," damn," "ass," "piss," and "bitch." Only in Season 16 are words such as "fuck," "shit," "goddamn," and "asshole," spoken by characters. This is because Season 16 aired on Paramount+ rather than CBS.
  • Uncensored, strong language is exclusive to Season 16 on Paramount+.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Some killers are drug addicts
  • Severe strong gory bloody violence.
  • References and some usage of hard drugs such as cocaine, heroine and others
  • In some episodes, killers use drugs to make the victims hallucinate

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Most episodes are very violent
  • Every episode is intense
  • Many heartbreaking moments
  • Many deaths through out the series
  • The violence is very strong, bloody, gory and always intense
  • One the most suspenseful, intense, violent shows ever on tv.
  • The Criminal Minds: Evolution are much more graphic and disturbing in their depictions of crimes being happened than the original seasons. Rather than cutting away right before victims are killed, they are shown in detail.
  • The entire series is extremely disturbing, brutally violent, suspenseful and extremely intense. It deals with all sorts of viscerally horrible criminals of all shapes and sizes, including serial killers with double-digit kills, serial rapists with double-digit victims, James Bond-style supervillains, or the rare triple-digit killer, all of whom commit an assorted variety of gruesome crimes. Worst of all is that all of these crimes actually happened in real-life.
  • Rated TV-MA for strong, bloody and disturbing violent content, aberrant criminal behavior, grisly images throughout, torture, rape, language, some sexuality/nudity and drug content.

  • One killer keeps the entrails of his victims preserved in jars. We see jars with hearts and such in them with graphic detail.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • You can assume for a few episodes Spencer is a drug addict. Then at a support meeting he says he's 10 months clean

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The couple episodes that show The Reaper threatening Hotch's family, then following through and killing Haley can be extremely sad / intense. Especially the phone call before she's shot
  • In the season 12 finale, Reid suddenly holds a woman against a wall and begins choking her. Rather frightening since Reid is known to keep his cool up until this moment.
