- Toth: Oh... I know it's presumptuous of me to offer advice to people I hardly know, but... It would be unwise for you to remain here after sundown tonight. It would just be... unwise.
- Toth: Yes, I'm afraid he's had a very bad influence on her. She's changed so much since she met him.
- Marcy: And how do you know Grace?
- Toth: Why, she was my fiancé. Yes. We had already set the date. And then he came onto the scene. Snatched her right out from under my nose, I'm afraid. I try to be a good sport about it, but... I do worry for Grace.
- Denton: [to John] What are we making? Divining rod? Magic wand?
- John: [chopping tree branch] In certain traditions, a stave like this, properly marked and anointed, can be used as a talisman to project power and repel dark forces.
- Denton: Oh. Think we're gonna need it? Expecting trouble?
- John: Something's coming. I can feel it... in the ground and in the trees... I can smell it in the air.
- Denton: What is it? Something bad? Something wicked this way comes?
- John: It's no joke, Denton. He's coming for her. Or sending something for her. Maybe tonight.
- Denton: Who's coming? Who's he?
- Marcy: [to Alex, crying] If all they want is Grace... If that's all they want... Why don't we just...? Why don't we just...?
- Toth: [to John] I came here today hoping that you might be made to see reason. You are a reasonable man, aren't you? We all want to be reasonable, don't we? After all, life is so short. And even at the best of times, we're all just a heartbeat away from eternity. Isn't that so?
- Grace: [to Kate] We can't go back in time... fix all our mistakes, can we? We can't untwist everything that's grown crooked, can we?
- Mike: Y'know, when you arrange an intervention, you should at least be sure the person is gonna be here.
