Many locals participated as extras including native Tarahumara Indigenous people using their original garments in the scenes.
Cielito Lindo "Beautiful Heaven" was produced in it's entirety by Alejandro Alcondez owner of Alejandro Alcondez Pictures. Releasing a film in the American market is one of the most difficult tasks, it is not easy and requires dedication and hard work. Determination and Perseverance is what allowed Mr. Alcondez to schedule his film for release in 2009, it was determined that Alejandro Alcondez Pictures would be the distributing company.
Alejandro Alcondez received the Jalisco Latino Pride Award from the Jalisco Foundation, presented by the Assistant Secretary for Public Relations for the State of Jalisco, Mexico, for his long career in cinematography as director, producer, writer and actor, including his most recent American film Cielito Lindo Beautiful Heaven.
The film premiered at the famous Grauman´s Chinese Theater on May 27, 2010 and was well received by the public as well as the different news publications, it was released in theaters everywhere. The film was also exhibited for distinguished guest at the Mexican Consulate in Los Angeles, California where Mr. Alcondez was the guest of Honor.
Production of the film took place in Chihuahua, Chihuahua Mexico and it's beautiful surroundings including the local abandoned copper mines Las Minas de Aldama and Chihuahua Train Station (Chihuahua Pacifico) that had to be shut down delaying some departures. It took approximately 3 months to complete the filming of Cielito Lindo.
