I love how this series shows off unique, classic cars and how Dennis Gage talks about cars. It's truly for people who have a love for cars. Highly recommend :)

Jay Leno's Favorite Program
director-editor25 November 2005
Comedian and talk show host Jay Leno, himself quite a collector of classic automobiles, with several dozen stabled at his home, once commented on the 'Tonight Show' that 'My Classic Car' was his favorite television program.

Not a program for those who don't like the smell of grease and oil, 'My Classic Car' regularly looks in on off-the-frame restoration projects and follows them through from towed-in rust heaps to best-of-show prize winners.

Initially placed on TNN and now seen on Speed TV, the program attracts a wide-spectrum following. The show offers tips for the do-it-yourselfer, giving suggestions as to determining the value of your car, etc.

Produced by Bradley-David Productions, which also brings to life 'Ride-On' and 'Texas Hardtails', the program is hosted by hardcore collector Dennis Gage. The off-camera narrator is Brian Jackson, Gage's on-camera co-host on Speed TV's 'Ride-On'.

Mostly not about classic cars
KJGood-124 August 2019
Like or loathe Dennis Gage (I find him annoying at best), this show should either adjust its coverage or change its title. While there is some grey area, generally "classic cars" comprise a fairly defined car category. Usually, they are non-modified or modestly modified cars. Show after show, we see custom cars, resto-mods, hot rods, race cars, and other categories not related or mildly related to classics. In fact, it seems that often the shows that reliably actually focus on classics are when Gage visits Jay Leno's collection.

The other categories are interesting to some (not me), and there are plenty of actual classic cars and places/venues to cover them that are wholly ignored. So if this show wants tp cover this broad base, maybe change the title to "Custom Cars, Hot Rods, Resto-mods and Classics." That would be more truthful and representative. As it is right now, its rather like having a show "All About Tennis" but you cover ping-pong, pickleball, handball, and anything involving smacking a ball somewhere.
