This is the first Canadian film to be certified by Dogme '95.
The title comes from a musical piece by Canadian composer Claude Vivier (1948-1983).
Most of the script was improvised. Writer/director Pascal Robitaille told each of the actors what his/her part in the story was and they each developed their own characters.
The film was made for absolutely no budget using a cast and crew working for free and borrowed equipment.
The cottage where Nicolas and Maxime spend the summer belongs to assistant director Raphaël Martin's grandfather.
