Adapted from B-Independent.com's 2003 Underground Short Film Of The Year, The Last Round is the feature length telling of the movie that Film Threat calls "A taut drama".
Five of the flashbacks were filmed over the course of one month each on weekends from April 2004 to August 2004. The "game" scenes were film on weekends throughout 6 weeks. The last flashback was filmed the following year along with reshoots.
The "game" scenes were originally slated for three months of filming but the original executive producer who owned the location passed away. The director had been slipping in extra shots throughout the first month of filming the game so only two weeks were needed to finish.
The Last Round was filmed exactly as planned in the storyboards, or improvised as needed with only several coverage shots for the entire film.
The actress who played "Baby" was replaced when the original actress failed to show up for the shoot.
