- Tony Almeida: [Over the phone] I guess you're about ten minutes from the airport?
- Jack Bauer: Yeah that seems about right: look, have you got a complete tail number on the aircraft yet?
- Tony Almeida: No, not yet. We're still working on it. Look you'll link up with the assault team on the south side of emergency building. Their sweeping the grounds now, they're starting to lock it down
- Jack Bauer: Ok that sounds good. Did you contact Kim yet?
- Tony Almeida: No I haven't. I've made calls I've called the Sheriff's station and sent out search teams. I just don't understand why she hasn't contacted us yet
- Jack Bauer: She knows she can't go back to Los Angeles. Right now the LAPD is looking for her as a murder suspect. She's not going to reach out to us. Right now we've got to find her, do you understand?
- Tony Almeida: Believe me, I'm putting every resource we can spare on it
- Jack Bauer: Do everything you have to
- Tony Almeida: Ok
- Jack Bauer: Thanks
- President David Palmer: [after entering the room where Roger is being tortured] ready to tell me everything I need to know?
- President David Palmer: [to Simmons after Roger remains silent, referring to continuing the torturing] continue
- Roger Stanton: [Before the President leaves] I knew about the bomb: weeks ago
- President David Palmer: [to Ted, implying he should leave them alone to talk privately] thank you Simmons
- President David Palmer: What'd you mean "knew"?
- Roger Stanton: We let it in the country. We tracked it all the way. We allowed it to sneak through Customs, we allowed the Second Wave terrorist cell to operate unimpeded
- President David Palmer: God, Roger, a nuclear bomb?
- Roger Stanton: There was no chance that it was ever going to go off. he Special Ops team were following it every step of the way
- President David Palmer: Colonel Samuels' team?
- Roger Stanton: Yeah, the mission was to take the bomb out of play, at the last possible moment
- President David Palmer: What're you trying to do? Start a war with the Middle East?
- Roger Stanton: No
- President David Palmer: [Raises his voice] then what?
- Roger Stanton: Your defense policy, is too passive
- President David Palmer: Trying to hijack my Presidency
- Roger Stanton: No, trying to give it some balls
- President David Palmer: Call your Special Ops team, tell them to secure the bomb now
- Roger Stanton: They went "dark", three hours ago, they're not accepting any incoming communications until the mission's complete
- President David Palmer: Then where were they?
- President David Palmer: [Raises his voice] where were they?
- Roger Stanton: Norton Airfield, Los Angeles
- Tony Almeida: I just got off the phone with Division. While they were debriefing Syed Ali, there are three more Second Wave terrorists in the LA area: I want two transport teams assigned to each one, pick them up now alright?
- Michelle Dessler: OK
- George Mason: [to the CTU personnel] hey guys listen up, I just received confirmation from NSA in Oregon. The location of the bomb is indeed Norton Airfield, Jack Bauer is on route. I want every available field agent there now
- Jack Bauer: [Briefing the tactical team before they confront the paramilitary unit Coral Snake] everybody gather around. Gentlemen, we are going to engaging hostiles in a large uncontrolled area. I want everyone wearing ID tags, no exception. Anyone wants to leave this area, they check with me first. Here's the situation: there is a nuclear warhead somewhere on site. There's an "envelop" surrounding it, an armed delta team. I want three sub-units, unit one will make the first sweep. Unit two coordinates air and tactical. Unit three awaits my command until I have a twenty on the bomb. Does everyone understand?
- George Mason: [Over the phone] there's a new "wrinkle", how far are you from the airport?
- Jack Bauer: We're looking at a couple minutes. What're you talking about? What kind of "wrinkle"?
- George Mason: There's a hostile US paramilitary unit standing between you and the bomb: Coral Snake team headed by Colonel Ron Samuels
- Jack Bauer: Yes, the same unit that took out our plane. What the hell is going on? Why is a US military team aiding terrorists?
- George Mason: As far as we know, they're not. The best we can make out, they want to be the ones to secure the bomb, for whatever reason anyone who stands in their way they're going to treat as an adversary
- Jack Bauer: Why don't you tell Colonel Samuels' team to stand down?
- George Mason: We were told they went "dark" three hours ago. Their a rogue unit. Their acting on their own authority
- Jack Bauer: How do I find them?
- George Mason: I wish I could narrow it down for you, somewhere in the airport. I'm trying to get men up there from Camp Pendleton
- Jack Bauer: This is bad
- George Mason: Yeah it is. Our best bet is still you getting past them to the bomb
- Tony Almeida: We got a little problem
- Michelle Dessler: What's up?
- Tony Almeida: Brad Hammond from Division is on his way over here: they want to shut us down and run everything from over there
- Michelle Dessler: We're up and running now
- Tony Almeida: Not a hundred percent. Division's still a little uncomfortable with the idea of running an operation like this. Out of a "compromised" location
- Michelle Dessler: We just don't have time to give these idiots from Division the grand tour
- Tony Almeida: I know
- Michelle Dessler: We're closing in on this
- Tony Almeida: They're on their way so we've got to deal with it
- President David Palmer: Where are we on locating the Coral Snake commandos?
- Lynne Kresge: Bauer and his team are at the airport and CTU is updating us every ten minutes
- President David Palmer: Good
- Lynne Kresge: Sir, this cannot possibly have a good outcome: we've got two highly trained American military groups about to face off
- President David Palmer: CTU has a formable presence. If the commandos are there, CTU should be able to control the situation
- Lynne Kresge: Mr. President, we've got something new
- President David Palmer: What?
- Lynne Kresge: Our COMM team discovered a covert link between Stanton and Bruce Gluck
- President David Palmer: The Michigan Senator?
- Lynne Kresge: Yes, it looks like they were working together. How would you like to proceed?
- President David Palmer: Sherry knows Gluck and his key staffers. They worked very closely together during the primaries. Bring her in
- Lynne Kresge: Here? Into the OC?
- President David Palmer: Yes. She'll need access to our secured databases
- Lynne Kresge: Sir, I feel...
- President David Palmer: [Interrupts him] I don't want to argue about this. Just do it
- Tony Almeida: Did Mason tell you that they're sending someone from Division for an evaluation?
- Michelle Dessler: Yeah
- Michelle Dessler: Why are they doing this now? We're clearly operational: we're getting results. Why can't they just leave us alone?
- Tony Almeida: They will, it's just Chappelle's way of doing stuff over there
- Michelle Dessler: What about George?
- Tony Almeida: Well, when they get a look at the shape his in, their probably going to yank him. I'm keeping an eye on him alright? Just get everyone in order
- Lynne Kresge: [Handing her the cards] the green card will give you access into the systems rooms: the red card will get you into the network
- Sherry Palmer: Thank you
- Lynne Kresge: I'm sorry you weren't able to gain access to the OC earlier
- Sherry Palmer: What made the President change his mind?
- Lynne Kresge: I'll let the President fill you in and I would like to make it clear that you are not to speak directly to the personnel when you are in the OC. Please see me if you need anything
- Sherry Palmer: [Amused] you want me to run everything by you?
- Lynne Kresge: I'm more familiar with the internal politics, I would be able to help...
- Sherry Palmer: [Interrupts her] you'll be able to do what?
- Lynne Kresge: I am just trying to maintain some form of protocol...
- Sherry Palmer: [Interrupts her] no, you're not. You're trying to position yourself between me and David's inner circle because you don't trust me. Instead of talking about protocols, why don't you just say what's on your mind? You don't want me here
- Lynne Kresge: Mrs. Palmer...
- Sherry Palmer: [Interrupts her] no, you don't want me here so let's quit playing games
- Lynne Kresge: How dare you speak to me like this. I was appointed by the President of the United States of America because of my qualifications in foreign policy and crisis management and I don't know what kind of credentials that makes you think you can lecture me. Fine, you don't want to play games? I don't like you and I don't like you being here
- Sherry Palmer: Well, now we're communicating
- President David Palmer: I want you to find out everything you can about Gluck's relationship with Stanton: I'm especially interested in any meetings that both Rayburn and Stanton attended
- Sherry Palmer: Fine, I know who exactly to call
- President David Palmer: Good. I'll have Lynne set you up with a work space
- Sherry Palmer: That's great. Lynne's been quite helpful. I want to thank you David
- President David Palmer: For what?
- Sherry Palmer: Well, I know how difficult it is to get clearance in here and I am certain that your advisors really don't want...
- President David Palmer: [Interrupts her] stop distilling everything down to politics. We have a need for information, hopefully you can fill it
- Sherry Palmer: [Before walking away] and I will, Mr. President
- President David Palmer: I'm sorry. I didn't mean to sound rude. I really do appreciate what you're doing. That's why your here
- Mike Novick: [Walking up to them] Mr. President
- President David Palmer: Yes?
- Mike Novick: I just got off with CTU Los Angeles. Jack Bauer found the Coral Snake commandos
- President David Palmer: So it's over?
- Mike Novick: I'm afraid not. All six members of the team have been killed before Bauer got there
- President David Palmer: What about the bomb?
- Mike Novick: [Shakes his head]
- President David Palmer: [after storming into the interrogation room, referring to the Coral Snake commandos] the men are all dead and there's no sign of the bomb
- Roger Stanton: That's not possible
- President David Palmer: Your insane plan backfired: those men were our last chance to find the bomb, now their all dead
- Roger Stanton: [Shocked] my God
- President David Palmer: You're misguided but you are not crazy. You do not want this bomb to go off
- Roger Stanton: [Worried] of course not
- President David Palmer: Then tell me, who else could've known about this?
- Roger Stanton: No one, they were on their own
- President David Palmer: Someone killed six highly trained commandos, now that doesn't sound the work of suicide bombers
- Roger Stanton: You said six?
- President David Palmer: That's right
- Roger Stanton: There were seven
- George Mason: What's the word at the airport?
- Tony Almeida: Their searching all the planes and structures: there's too places this thing could be
- Randy Murdoch: [after enhancing the number on the burned paper fragment found in Syed Ali's clothing] I got it. It's either N34G5 or NG436
- George Mason: Michelle?
- Michelle Dessler: I'm on it. N34G5 is registered in California and it's at Norton Airfield in hanger MD-7
- Tony Almeida: [Over the phone with Jack] we got a tail number on that plane: N as in "November" three, four, G as in "Gulf", five. Now the FAA got it spotted in hanger M as in "Mamma", D as in "Delta", seven
- President David Palmer: [after entering the interrogation room where Roger Stanton is being held] there's no bomb at the airport: now if there is something you haven't told me that could save lives, tell me now. Please Roger
- Roger Stanton: Ask Sherry
- President David Palmer: What did you say?
- Roger Stanton: Sherry is the one you want to talk to
