When Bly's gang is plotting on how to rob the train they say that they will use gas to knock out the engineer. One member says that the train will stop because of the "dead-man's switch" that will stop the train when the engineer lets go of the throttle. Steam locomotives never had a dead-man's switch and the engineer frequently went for long periods without touching the throttle. Only diesel locomotives have this switch. If the engineer releases the switch the engine will stop.
Dixie and Brisco arrive literally at the feet of Big Smith and his men after a split-second decision to leap from a runaway coach at a random spot in the road. It's never explained how the gang knew to wait for them in exactly that spot in the woods. Yet only Brisco is surprised by this turn of events.
During her musical number Dixie is wearing nylon tights which would not be available in 1893.
