Outlaw Money

The local villagers of Lockham village are being starved to death as the Sheriff and his crony Count William are taxing them to the bone.

Robin Hood has stolen some silver and gone to the silversmith Master Henry to help the villagers out. He is the master of the mint by royal warrant.

The Sheriff of Nottingham wants to replace Henry with one of his own cronies but he soon finds himself on the run.

When Little John finds a heavy box. It turns out to be a minters anvil that Henry ordered. It allows him to make fake silver coins.

Soon Count William is puzzled why the local villagers are now buying food when everything they own has been taxed.

Friar Tuck is later arrested for possessing fake coins. Master Henry knows that the coins he has made are of pure silver. The Sheriff has been making coins in his own mint where he has substituted part of it with base metal. They are worth less.

At Friar Tuck's trial, a disguised Henry embarrases both the Sheriff and his minter.

I did think Robin Hood would be careful with his new money. Also what happened to Henry, he would have to flee Nottingham for good.
