Talk about far-out story lines. This one is about "Carmelito," a burro down in Mexico who can read minds!
Lois and Jimmy are down there to get a story about the amazing burro, and hoping to bring it back to Metropolis. Clark joins them south of the border at a restaurant (where crooks just happen to be at the next table) when "Pepe" brings in the donkey into the restaurant for a demonstration. However, Pepe isn't interested in taking Carmelito anywhere and leaves.
About the eavesdropping crooks......"Tiger" and "Al" are on the lam in Mexico, the rest of their in jail. "We've found our answer: the burro," says Tiger. "He'll help us get even with Superman and the Metropolis police." The leave to go catch the kid, Pepe, and then give him 200 pesos to put on a private show with "Carmelito." Since that is a lot of money to him, Pepe accepts, which was a mistake since all they really want is for the amazing animal to rob a bank. The honest Pepe has no choice as the thieves threaten to shoot "Carmelito."
After the robbery, our good guys from the Daily Planet are found with the money and are arrested. How does "Senor Superman" get the "good guys" (including Pepe and Carmelito) out of this jam?? Stay tuned...but don't feel too bad if you missed this episode, because only a dumb ass would like this stupid donkey tale.
