Archie and the strike
Jimmy_the_Gent410 December 2017
The family gets ready for a wedding anniversary party for Archie and Edith while Archie's union threatens a strike.

Another great season starts with this funny episode. It begins with a Archie and Mike argument (naturally), this time about Nixon's resignation which happened the previous summer. Mike tells Archie that Nixon lied and Archie replies "He did not lie! He forgot to tell the truth!" There are some funny scenes at the party with Irene,Lionel,Louise,George and Munson. It ends on a poignant note as Archie and Edith face a possible dismal future with the strike and inflation.

Cast and writing appear to have lost it

Carroll O'Connor and Jean Stapleton lose their comedic edge. They might have a little in the tank left but it didn't appear here. Archie is too nice and his one liners aren't very funny. But maybe there are a few good episodes left? A simply dreadful episode.
