After the AmDrag season one finale "The Hunted," I had mentioned on IMDb's bulletin boards that I was hoping against all hope that Jake would have a Tennessee Williams-style fit over his desire for Rose. Such a reaction came pretty close to happening in "Half-Baked." Jake dreams of Rose and wakes up to find that her huntsclan mask is in his bed. So he seeks help from Fu to get a potion that can help him find and contact her. Spud and Trixie on the other hand want him to get over her, and move on with his life. But the dream is more important than a manifestation of how he feels about the girl of his dreams. It's actually Rose herself trying to contact Jake to warn him about some sinister plot by the Huntsmaster. As for Fu Dog's potion, it involves stealing the venom from a dangerous supernatural creature called a Krylock, something that is extremely dangerous if you mix it up in a pastry recipe.
Bottom line: Jake still loves Rose... and vice versa. This episode deals with their feelings for each other(mostly Jake's feelings for her, but that's besides the point). Plus we're introduced to Jake's Home Ec teacher, a woman who knows more about him than she's willing to admit. Anyone distracted by the second season artwork should be willing to look past it, and consider the storyline for the rest of the season.
