Dylan is trying to talk Grunyan out of killing him and his crew; Grunyan says he is sure Dylan has 1001 nights worth of ideas. This refers to the Scheherazade framing narrative from "One Thousand and One Nights" (The Arabian Nights). By telling her husband, the king, a story each night and cutting it off with a cliffhanger, she got her pending execution delayed one night at a time.
