Not bad...

"Baby on Board" is a failed television pilot that was shown on "CBS Summer Playhouse"...a repository for failed pilots. Whether it was being shown so they could gauge audience reactions or if they were simply trying to recoup development costs, I have no idea.

George and Sally are both successful middle-aged working parents. Adjusting to a baby seems to be the theme of the show. In this pilot, the parents both are tired and need a vacation from the baby. But the in-laws are jerks, so Sally arranges for a baby sitter. George is afraid to leave the baby with a stranger, but his attitude changes when the sitter (Teri Hatcher) turns out to be mega-hot. Not surprisingly, Sally isn't impressed!

The first thing I noticed about this show was its VERY invasive laugh track. The canned laughs occur almost constantly....and it's really annoying. I assume they overused the laugh track to try to make the show seem funnier than it really was! I'm surprised they didn't use it every time one of the cast breathed...it was just invasive.

Apart from the laughs, is the show any good? Well, it's not bad....but I can assume the networks wanted something more than not bad. Watchable.
