A staged suicide harks the return of a serial killer. Catherine and Gil Grissom, while at court, finds the the residing judge looks exactly like this killer. Grissom investigates the judge's past and finds a startling answer.
In a rainy night, a driver stops his car for a hitchhiker and offers a ride to him. Soon his body is found in Good Springs, shot in the stomach in a bathtub in a shed with a tape recorder. The CSI team realizes that Paul Millander is back, based on the M.O. They investigate several evidences and they decide to verify what the three victims have in common. They find that the victims had had speeding ticket issued by Officer Kevin Yarnell. Grissom and Catherine travel to Mulberry to meet Officer Yarnell that suggests them to go to court and see he case presided over by Judge Douglas Mason. Grissom immediately recognizes the judge as Paul Millander and is hold in contempt in court.
