'Caroline in the City' has always been a show that was never particularly on the ball when it came to continuity, and this is shown by the fact that not only does Del's Dad return played by a different actor, he also seems to have had a complete personality change. It's a bit jarring for fans who have followed the show through the three series so far.
This is a decent episode, one in fact that gets better as it goes along. There was a lot of fun to be had in the Caroline/Del story (that includes two big name guest stars) and the Charlie and his father story was very sweet in its own way.
As ever the Richard and Julia stuff isn't much fun, but the pay off is nice, and reminds us that the Caroline/Richard love story may not be over with.
I liked the direct to camera 'holiday wishes' from the cast too.
