Lifeguard Angels
samimichalek1 August 2020
This episode is actually the best Hawaiian one of Season 5. The guest stars are fantastic: Dan Haggerty, Edd Byrnes, Richard Anderson, and special appearances of Patrick Wayne. Also, for Charlie's Angels fans Billy from the Season 2 opener guest stars at the very end, however not as Billy.

The Angels are hired by Richard Anderson to find his kidnapped daughter. She was taken on the beach by wild dune buggy dudes, so the angels are set up to be lifeguards. However, the only angel we ever see lifeguarding in the whole episode is Kelly.

This episode is not the greatest, but a definite pickup from the latest Hawaiian ones. Enjoy, Angels!!

Grizzly Adams & Oscar Goldman Guest in this Caper
hypestyle14 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The main case involves the college-aged daughter of a congressman (played by Six Million Dollar Man's Richard Anderson) who was apparently kidnapped. The SMDM show had been canceled by 1979, so Anderson would have still been a well known television actor.

Dan Haggerty is a member of a low-rent racketeer crew who terrorize the beach goers on Waikiki, using a dune buggy as the getaway car. It's a long way from his back-to-nature Grizzly Adams role.

Kris, Julie and Kelly decide to go undercover as lifeguards. Shenanigans happen, of course. Viewers do get to see the ladies in swimsuits, which is a major plus.

One of the few action sequences involves Kelly being menaced by the dune buggy gang while stuck on her lifeguard tower. This leads to the Angels tailing the crew in an off-road truck.

The execution of finding out the mystery isn't great but all of the backdrops in Hawaii are.

Ironically, the popular Baywatch series would be nine years away. This gives a kind of female-centered preview of what that show was about.

A grizzly episode
robrosenberger16 June 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Angels and Oscar Goldman versus Grizzly Adams! Sadly, the reality falls far short. It's undercover lifeguard time, to stop a series of dune buggy attacks/kidnappings, including the obligatory senator's daughter. Either the writer was a full-blown alcoholic passing out of the "functional" stage, or his child finished the writing while Daddy was passed out. Dan Haggerty and Richard Anderson are wasted on a script that has Hell's Angels types dressing and acting more like Brady kids. Patrick (son of John) Wayne is here too. The only thing worth notice is the lifeguard trial. Who'd have thought that Kel would kick Kris and Julie's asses?
