- Tony is doubly stymied when identical twins both initially confess to the same murder, then, in a surprise about-face, accuse each other of the crime. Also, Arnie finds romance with a kindred soul, a phone-sex operator named Gloria.
- Following the murder of Claudia Henderson, her boyfriend Jeffery Borman confesses to the killing. However, when Jeffery's identical twin Greg appears at the station and also admits to Claudia's murder, Tony is left without a solid case against either suspect. Meanwhile, Stan's lack of confidence in his partner Carmela allows a robbery suspect to escape while Tony and Rachel suspect their son David of calling a phone sex line.
Deciding to get the brothers to work against each other, Tony makes up a story about Claudia being pregnant at the time of her death, causing Jeffery to crack and accuse Greg of the killing. Meanwhile, after David claims he had nothing to do with the phone calls, Tony discovers that Arnie has been making all of the phone sex calls. Secretly arranging for the cooperation of the patrons, Carmela takes her partner to the Spinning Wheel Bar and impresses Stan by slugging a customer after telling him it is part of a department ritual.
After Greg tries to recant his confession by claiming he was only trying to protect his brother, Tony takes the twins to the scene of the crime where an unusual error in their stories identifies Jeffery as the killer. While trying to impress another cop, Stan unwittingly attempts to take on the same burly patron as Carmela and causes a riot that nearly destroys the bar. After arranging for him to meet his favorite phone sex operator, Tony and Rachel are surprised when Arnie announces they are headed for Tahiti to get married.
