Hilaroius!

I loved this episode! I bought the Desperate Housewives box, but i had only seen one episode. So i sat down and watched the first episode (pilot) and laughed so much! My favorite character is Lynette (Felicity Hauffman). She was so funny! I also loved all the other characters; Susan (Teri Hatcher), Bree (Marcia Cross), and the other girls and boys. Bree was such a cool woman, when everything had to be perfect. And Susans food was a great sequence! Lynette was a great woman who had so many children's (i loved went in the pool at the funeral). How can i say this... Well, great episode with great actresses. Many quick and funny lines and it felt good. I'm looking forwards to the other episodes!

Great sexy tease and interesting entertainment that helped start a legendary soap opera!

The Pilot episode from October of 2004 of "ABC's" "Desperate Housewives" was one that was entertaining and sexy it had me like many others hooked as a viewer from the start. It all begins when mother and housewife Mary Alice has her perfect life ended. Now it's the journey and travels of the lives of her four best friends Susan(Teri Hatcher) Lynette(Felicity Huffman) Bree(Marcia Cross) and Gabrielle(Eva Longoria). From the get go secrets and behind the scenes business is shown. Susan as a single mom has a crush on new neighborhood hunk Mike, and sexy model turned socialite trophy wife Gabrielle(Eva Longoria) is playing her field of vices by having an affair with her 17 year old gardener John.(And wow I must say the seduction scene help set the tone for the whole series as being intimate and sexy love Gabrielle in that very sexy multi colored bra and panties!) Both Bree and Lynette are crazy dealing with kids and family. Together this episode started it as it was a taste of the many mysteries to come over the years and seasons.

It was the perfect pilot episode.

Warning: Spoilers
The one that both got you hooked and entertained. And it has one of the best scenes, in the whole series. That's the thing I usually find regrettable in this show. The first season was so perfect and groundbreaking, that the rest looked tame in comparison. It was a whole season appeal you got from this pilot episode. The cast was great, but I'm not sure Bree's sudden change of attitude towards her husband, will ever be explained. If I recall well, there's the part about her cleaning her mother's blood on the sidewalk. Which was long before she met Rex, and had this obsessive notion of perfection. So could it be the show's first plot hole? Thankfully, the rest of the pilot episode is flawless. The opening scene, and shocking « twist » where Mary Alice commit suicide. The heroines introduction. The first intrigues, and discovery of the infamous letter. Were all milestone moments of the first ever DH episode. Some special effects look dated on HD, but nothing bad either. I'm probably not very original, but my favorites scenes are those where Lynette goes inside the pool, Gabby mowers the lawn, and Susan set Eddy's house on fire. It's a shame the second episode couldn't keep this perfect synchronicity, but that's what usually happens when a pilot episode sets the bar this high I noticed.

Binge ready
Br4ve-trave1or9 June 2018
A series that aired in 2004 and here I am in June 2018 just bingeing it away! The very first episode of Desperate Housewives proves one final thing that's most important to anyone besides me who may not have seen it yet, IT HOLDS UP PERFECTLY TO TODAY! I MEAN IT...JUST PERFECTLY!

This episode got a 10 because it had all the ingredients to make a masterful 45 minutes of entertainment. From eva Longoria mowing the lawn at night in a dress so that the garden boy isnt fired by her husband, to Terry fletcher seeing Micahel Delfino (what a suspicious name??) and relieved and saying, "Its fine, it's fine, everthing fine!" While she glowes with a huge smile in front of a house she just burnt down.

Theres even a muder myster going on too in the background to add intrigue and what do you know the man with the phony sounding name may be a bad guy or hey, maybe not. And the end with the intriguing letter that Mary Ellis, who is narrating the episode and the one who commits suicide opening up the episode.

This show Desperate Housewives, a good name too, is defintely a series that seems binge worthy with 180 episodes!!!

This episode was pure fun and flashes of laughter!! It got me itching for the next episode button so here I go!!! 10/10

Probably the best pilot in TV history
chaz8180-702-2934878 July 2019
When this show first started I veered away from it because I thought it was just some just-for-ladies show. I didn't start watching it until 2009 and I started watching Season 1 with my to-be wife. We both loved the show but this pilot knocks it out of the park we just started watching it again last night on Hulu.

Superb Pilot - It Got Me Hooked and Craving for More !
ichocolat8 February 2010
Warning: Spoilers
I don't do drugs, but I certainly know how it must have felt - the craving, the need for more fixes - exactly the feeling I have for Desperate Housewives Series.

It all started with this episode - a wonderfully done, masterpiece art of artwork - that got me hooked to the series.

It showcases all the main cast; their demeanor, their attitudes, impressions, complicated lives - interwoven with such creativity that made me and millions upon millions others love the series.

The viewers are being introduced to the characters, giving little, and hiding many other secrets which were unravel bits by bits in every episode.

Lynette; the home-mom. Gabriel; the sexy diva. Edie; man-hunter. Bree; Stepford wife. Susan; the single mom.

A story of how their lives revolve.

A definite 10 for this pilot. Kudos !

Four women's dynamic routines
dagen-592553 November 2016
Warning: Spoilers
This story starts with Mary's death. Mary committed suicide and in her death, there absolutely is a secret related to her husband. Her husband's behavior looks suspicious, Mary had had four best friends, and all of them have different kinds of problems, Gabrielle has bad emotion with her husband and had sex with the gardener, Brie has strange characteristics, she is kind of a perfectionist and her husband doesn't like her character. Lynette is tired of her sons, who are always making problems for her, and she doesn't want more kids. Susan's husband had died, and she has a daughter. She needs a man, and Mike is her first objective. But she has a rival, whose name is Iddie. Susan saw Iddie having a relationship with someone, and Susan thinks it is Mike. She accidentally causes a fire in Iddie's house, and realizes that the man who was having sex with Iddie wasn't Mike, and was happy with it. This story was a little confusing but it was interesting and I'd like to watch the next episode.

Really good pilot

I've watched a lot of shows so I've watched a lot of pilots. This is one of the best. Everything seems so perfect, but you never know what could be hiding below the surface.
