An excellent rendition of narration mixed with silence.

My father, Dale H. Girdner of Cornville AZ., sold Disney the hat & coat that Aldic Niemela (also of Cornville) wore during this TV movie.

Both the Narrator, (Roy Barcroft) and the Prospector (Aldic) did excellent jobs. The film portrays the Arizona ruggedness and the difficulties a young pronghorn buck might experience in growing up under a variety of rough and unfortunate circumstances.

The hat & coat were authentic, worn, and old. I remember the sheepskin lined coat hanging in my father's clothes cabinet for years prior to when this TV movie was filmed in 1965.

Where can I get a video or DVD of this movie?

Run Light Buck Run

I remember watching the show when I was a child. The reason I have such a clear memory of it is because Al Niemela, the Old Prospector, is my uncle.

I remember the stubborn donkey that refused to move and he was struggling to get his pack into the cabin before the snow storm.

The baby deer had lost its mother and my uncle helped it survive the winter

I have been waiting for this show to come out on DVD so I may show it to my children.

Ironically Al Niemela had a brother Leo Niemela that saved a baby deer and raised it at his home in Baraga Michigan. It died when a hunter found that it was an easy target.
