- Dr. John Carter: Was Romano's prosthetic arm destroyed in the accident?
- Nurse Abby Lockhart: Why?
- Dr. John Carter: 'Cause if it wasn't, it's gonna hunt Dr. Weaver down and strangle her.
- [Dr Weaver has just dedicated a Gay and Lesbian center at the hospital to the late Dr Romano]
- Dr. Elizabeth Corday: Did I miss the dedication?
- Dr. John Carter: More like postmortem payback.
- Nurse Samantha Taggart: What is it with Kovac and his holier than thou healing hands? I'm getting pretty sick of that.
- Nurse Chuny Marquez: Oh, I don't know. Those healing hands have their good points. Right, Abby?
- Nurse Samantha Taggart: Did you go out with Kovac?
- Nurse Abby Lockhart: Briefly, yeah.
- Nurse Samantha Taggart: And Carter?
- Nurse Abby Lockhart: Yep.
- Nurse Chuny Marquez: Abby's the ER slut.
- Nurse Abby Lockhart: I went out with two doctors in five years that I've worked with.
- Lester Kertzenstein: Hey, Abby. Are we still on for tonight?
- Nurse Abby Lockhart: Yeah.
- Lester Kertzenstein: Great.
- Nurse Abby Lockhart: We're studying! And you shouldn't talk, Chuny.
- Nurse Samantha Taggart: [to Luka] You know what? Why don't save your lectures for the med students 'cause the nurses don't want to hear it.
- Dave Spencer: So how was your pancake-juju thing?
- Dr. Elizabeth Corday: My what?
- Dave Spencer: Your surgery. The operation you were doing this morning.
- Dr. Elizabeth Corday: Pancreaticojejunostomy?
- Dave Spencer: You made that up, didn't you?
- Dr. Elizabeth Corday: Nope.
- Dave Spencer: Come on, admit it. You have the perfect job for getting out of things. Who's going to argue with a surgeon? "I'm really sorry, I'd love to help you move this weekend, but I have to separate a pair of Guatemalan twins who are joined at the testes."
- Dr. Elizabeth Corday: Actually, a pancreaticojejunostomy is a re-plumbing of the upper GI tract.
- Dave Spencer: That sounds painful. Can you get that from working out? Because my shoulder's been killing me.
- Dr. Elizabeth Corday: I believe that's called old age.
- Dr. John Carter: [to Weaver] Hey, would you mind if Kem observes in the hospital today?
- Dr. Kerry Weaver: Yeah.
- Dr. John Carter: Um, she has her master's degree in public health.
- Dr. Kerry Weaver: Well, that's no reason to punish her. Give the poor woman a credit card, Carter. Let her have some fun.
- Dr. John Carter: I tried that. She would like to speak to the Public Health nurses and see how we track communicable disease.
- Dr. Kerry Weaver: Sure, fine. Maybe she can motivate some of these slackers around here.
- Nurse Abby Lockhart: [to Sam] Listen, about earlier, I don't want you to get the wrong idea about Luka. He's a good guy.
- Nurse Samantha Taggart: I'm not looking for anything right now.
- Nurse Abby Lockhart: Okay. I just thought you should know.
- Nurse Samantha Taggart: Thank you, but independence works pretty good for me. Although I wouldn't mind some regular sex.
- Nurse Abby Lockhart: No kidding. I'd settle for irregular sex.
- Neela Rasgotra: [to Kem] So, how are you liking Chicago?
- Makemba 'Kem' Likasu: It's very... nice. How long have you been here?
- Neela Rasgotra: I've been in America for seven years. Chicago for the last three.
- Makemba 'Kem' Likasu: Do you like it?
- Neela Rasgotra: I still feel like I'm getting settled in, but it's quite pleasant for a big city, really. Although it's not quite London.
- Makemba 'Kem' Likasu: No. Or Paris.
- Neela Rasgotra: No. It's much more agreeable in the summer. Tad warmer, too.
- Makemba 'Kem' Likasu: That is good to know.
- Neela Rasgotra: And the people are friendly enough.
- Makemba 'Kem' Likasu: Yeah. They're larger than I expected. The people.
- Neela Rasgotra: Yeah. They're quite fond of their giant portions here. Big Gulp, Supersize, Monster Fries, all that.
- Makemba 'Kem' Likasu: I saw a woman drinking a bucket of coffee this morning.
- Neela Rasgotra: Actually, that's quite common.
- Nurse Samantha Taggart: You know, I'm getting pretty tired of doctors thinking that we work for them or that they can tell us what to do.
- Nurse Chuny Marquez: The patients think it works that way, too.
- Nurse Abby Lockhart: I'm staying out of this conversation.
