I thoroughly enjoyed Dr. Benton's character growth/arch. I thought this although sudden but still respectful farewell was a nice send off to a great character. I really enjoyed Benton and Carter's final interaction.

I'll Be Home for Christmas (#8.10)

Warning: Spoilers
This went so stupid! There was absolutely nothing that was in favor of Peter to get custody. Nothing! In real life Roger would get it without a question as he was as much of a father biologically but was the one really raising Reese. I am just happy Roger got visitation rights and Peter even let him see him on Christmas.
Another thing that is sad is that just watching this episode I got the purpose of the storyline. I was hoping for interesting things to come after but it was just to write Peter off! Guess they didn't want to kill him off and saw his son and work time issues as the best way to get him out. I am both sad to see Peter leave as he is one of my favorite characters but also got him out in such a lame way as he was always a very reasonable character.
But at least the ending of the episode, they gave the character justice. He also had a miracle surgery saving a life of some kid, as we know him as a great surgeon. And we got to see him with Carter, I will miss the chemistry of the two, always loved them together.
I am sad to see that Eriq La Salle hasn't had a more successful character in his career after. But I would love to see more of him. He is a great actor and his character was a big success. I am not sure how well it will go without him now. This is probably when the shows starts getting worse.
